Lehigh Defenseâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Mike Cyrus recently traveled to South Africa for a hunt with Fort Richmond Safaris, along with writer Richard Mann and his son Sebastian, and a couple of other hunters. He brought along a few of Lehighâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s new projectiles, including .375 Controlled Fracturing bullets, as well as our new large caliber Xtreme Defense offerings.

The goal was to test and evaluate the projectiles against some of the most sought after and dangerous game in the world.

What follows is an account of the kills made on this trip.

WE WILL NEVER STOP INNOVATING

The first kill of the trip was a cull hunt on a young male Impala. Mike took him with a 225gr Xtreme Defense projectile loaded in the 450 Marlin. One shot through the shoulder dropped him where he stood.

Richard Mann took this Impala with the 85gr Controlled Chaos Copper in a 243 Winchester from about 250yds.

Mike got a couple of Warthogs on the trip. This one showed up in the midd uncasing and loading his 375 Ruger, Mike took one shot as the hog turned to it on the spot. The projectile was a 270gr 375 Xtreme Defense FTM.

Our FTM solids direct energy outwards, creating a large wound area while maintaining deep, straight penetration.

Xtreme Defense The 225gr .458cal Xtreme Defense FTM 450 Marlin The XD line of bullets was originally designed as a barrier blind self defense option, but in larger calibers like the 45-70 Govt. and 450 Marlin, it makes a very potent hunting projectile. The .458 caliber version is available in 225 and 325gr weights.

Leon took this Kudu with a 270gr Controlled Fracturing bullet, loaded in the 375 Ruger.

Mike Cyrus, and a Red Heartebeast taken with the 152gr 308 Winchester Controlled Chaos Copper, through a hardware store supressor. The animal dropped where it stood at 300yds, even though Mike said his shot was a little low on the chest.

Sebastian Mann, Black WIldebeast. Taken at just past 200yds with a 6.5 Creedmor 122gr Controlled Chaos Copper. He weighed about 400lbs, and dropped with one well placed shot.

Controlled Ch Controlled Fr The Controlled Chaos and Controlled Fracturing lines are monolithic, hollowpoint copper projectiles designed fracture or fragment upon impacting a soft target. The Controlled Chaos Copper is available from .17cal up to .375, and features a fragmenting nose, and a deep penetrating base. The fragmentation of the nose creates a massive energy dump while the fragments spread out in the vitals of the target, while the base contiunes to penetrate straight and deep, for a reliable exit wound in the rare event that tracking is needed.

The Controlled Fracturing differs in that the nose will fracture into pre-determined petals, which will also spread out in the vitals causing significant wounding, and leading to a quick, clean kill.

Controlled Chaos projectiles make an excellent choice for either hunting, or tactical/defensive roles.

Richard Mann took this Springbok from 380 yards with a 308 Winchester scout rifle, with an excellent shot.

The 152gr Controlled Chaos Copper did itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s job perfectly yet again, dropping the springbok immediately.
