WILLIAM A. SHALDERS - CHANCELLOR

William Shalders migrated to the United States in 2004 as a missionary to lead a church - Eagles Nest International Chapel with His family. After three months of leading the church, he identified in the ministry. With his Hospitality and ministry background he realized there was a foundational lack of church workers adequately trained with skills and ethics for delivering excellent service to the people and realizing the people who were working lacked the skills, ethics and capacity within the church he felt the need to introduce the ethics and knowledge acquired from the several years of working in the ministry and the hospitality industry ito the church.

The church at the time was not experiencing growth and there were complains about the character of the few who helped with services. With his passion and work ethic Apostle Shalders started a Friday night shepherds training which included every member of the ministry including the children. The training was done after Friday night services for two hours. this training continued for one year. Some dropped out and the number was left to a few committed ones. He commissioned the few who improved upon their working skills.

The training of workers in the organization and orderliness of our services brought tremendous and fast growth to the ministry which brought the need for acquiring a bigger space, God willing within two years funds were raised and a new location was purchased. We moved from Westchester Ave. The church moved from Westchester Avenue to the Cross Bronx Expressway. The growth brought in members from different counties of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This growth began the foundation for mission works to these areas.

The apostle therefore trained some leaders and started a Connecticut mission in East Norwalk. This training was done on Tuesday evenings. After two years of training, Apostle handed over the ministry to a Pastor and trained workers who continued to have weekly services.

He visited this mission occasionally. When there were challenges, he always called the leadership to New York for refresher and training courses. These training courses were so effective that they provided in many cases instant solutions to the problem and needs of the Norwalk Connecticut Campus, which later was relocated to Bridgeport.

The hallmark of Apostles ministry is training and empowerment. The apostle never compromises compromise on Leadership training at all levels.

The relocation of the Bronx Ministry into a much bigger space came with more responsibilities so the Bronx church had to launch a new training move.

In 2010, Apostle Shalders extended the training to a larger force in affiliation with Christian Life School of Theology (CLST) under the name Pneuma Christian Institute. This school has grown to become what is known today as Legacy Life University which is now training and equipping people globally to fulfill their God given destiny.

The inspiration to extend the training form the walls of the church to the greater population was fueled by great and wonderful educators which includes Dr Ron Cottle and Dr Bishop Miles who was the representative for CLST in that region.

Under this new era, classes were held on Saturday morning from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Our first Class had 5 students. These classes were intensive and this morning we have an alumni representation from these classes in the person of Minister Suzette Tubi.

Some of the Classes taught included Paul the man, Praise and Worship workshop, Discovering your ministry, shepherdorial, ministerial and pastoral trainings.

Apostle Shalders and Bishop Miles were the teachers of this classes. The Praise and Worship class was taught as a 3-day seminar. On Friday for 4 hours, Saturday night as a praise and worship practical experience night for 5 hours By Pastor Belinda Shalders.

In 2012, the training session was moved to 6am in the morning. These 6- hour classes were rigorous and fruitful. It was an experience the pastors and ministers of this ministry constantly make reference to and wished the current generation can be trained in like manner.

In 2014, the Lord revealed to Apostle Shalders to prepare to move His work out of the Ministry he was leading and gave him the name Love Legacy Chapel International and Legacy Life University. Apostle prepared all the documents, logo and website without knowing where God was leading him to. He continued to train the ministers and in addition to training this group he extended the training to the younger adults. The age range was from the age of 19 to 33. He engaged these young adults in discussions on pressing issues that pertained to this group. The focus of discussion included relationships, career, and finance. This group of young adults became a sensation and revival broke out. Weekly in attendance at their meeting were about 30 young adults. This was another move and revival in the nurturing and modeling career of Apostle Shalders.

In 2015 The Lord in His own way led Apostle to being the Love Legacy Chapel International Bronx New York. At the inception just as was apostles culture, he began the ministry with training every member. The entire church was trained on how to handle church relationships and handle Gods affairs. Courses taught included Discovering your ministry which was followed by specific training for every ministry including choir rehearsals. This training happened on Saturdays from 2pm to 9pm.

The apostle trained and ordained Deacons, Ministers, Pastors within and outside the church both in person and virtually.

In 2020 during the pandemic 2020 classes were held once a month virtually. Legacy life u was officially launched in 2020 with the CODE RED training on June 06, 2021. This meeting was attended by 50 people, which gave the assurance that we were off to a great start.

New students were recruited during this seminar as a fresh start to our university project. After which we have held classes like Discover your Ministry, Teamwork, Financial Management, End Time Doctrine, Spiritual Beings: Angels and Demons, Leadership I: Self Leadership, Business Models.

The courses offered at Legacy Life U are priceless, detailed, God drive, practical, resourceful, and innovative. We are affordable, flexible, and simple and our courses can be taken anywhere and at any time.

Up until 2021 all classes were offered for free which included course materials. Legacy Life U is able to offer scholarships and train more people with the support and funding from the various ventures Apostle family is involved in and from your generous support.

Currently, Legacy Life U is working on offering higher degree education which includes masters and doctorate degrees.

Today on this first commencement ceremony we are honoring everyone that either participated in person or online through our seminars, conferences, classes and in the past. This is the first ceremony which we are praying we will continue to have every year.

APOSTLE WILLIAM A. SHALDERS

Apostle William A. Shalders is a transformational spiritual leader,pastor, author, educator, preacher, life coach, and motivational speaker, recognized as a gifted, charismatic orator and rising voice of the faith-based community globally. He founded the Legacy Life University and the Love Legacy Chapel Middletown New York.

He served faithfully as Pastor and overseer at the Eagles Nest International Chapel in the Bronx, New York for over ten years raising a multinational ministry church with emerging branches in the states and internationally. In addition, he served as the Youth Pastor at Power Chapel and a Cell leader at Grace Outreach Church.

Working in the ministry and educating people is Apostle Shalders passion and that is what he has always pursued since he gave his life to Christ in 1987. He has served at all levels of ministry: prayer ministry, youth ministry, outreach, and more.

He has an unusual grace for reviving dead mantles, marriages, and businesses, restructuring ministries, and training leaders to develop skills that support their ability to lead effectively amongst complex challenges.

As a financial consultant, he is a model of a character who successfully combines ministry and business by co-founding ZOWWYS, Shalders Properties, and Churchlogistix.com.

Studying for his MBA at Leicester University in the UK and working Full time as a Pastor and Financial Controller for the Swiss Airline Catering Company is one of many multi-tasks he has undertaken over the years.

He has twenty years of working experience in the corporate world in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management and real estate.

Dr. Shalders holds a BA and MA in Theology from Milton Keynes Bible College, UK, and a Doctorate in Theology from Crossroads Bible College, Florida.

He is blessed with a loving and talented wife, Belinda, who is CoPastoring, and three God-given and wonderful angels, Wyllis, WylAimee and WylErin who are fully involved in the work of the ministry.

BELINDA SHALDERS

Belinda Shalders is the co founder of the Legacy Life university. She is popularly known as a teacher and renowned praise and worship leader.

Belinda exhibits her exemplary love for God and compassion for people through her service and compassion to serve people.She is the wife of Apostle William Shalders and co-founder and pastor of the Love Legacy Chapel International and Ministries worldwide.

Belinda has a Master’s Degree in Nursing (FNP) and Computer Science and currently working on her Doctorate Degree as a Doctor in Nurse Practice.Belinda has a heart for restoring families and building women and family relationships.

She is committed to health promotion and disease prevention outreach programs for her church and community.She believes that our health is in our hands and that healing is in God’s hands. She accomplishes this belief through programs she has organized for more than 20 years which the following tags the carnival of love, feed a thousand and barbecue of Love. The programs are geared to reaching out to the underserved in the Orange County Middletown, Bronx, Parkchester, and Castle Hill neighborhoods and internationally by distributing food and clothing and providing health screening and education.Also, she organizes an annual praise and worship workshop to train worship leaders on how to lead their congregation into God’s presence effectively.

Above all her accomplishments in ministry, Belinda actively and wholeheartedly supports her husband in ministry and has raised godly children, which is one of her primary purposes and calling.She is a mother of three and firmly believes that the best way to raise successful children is to be an active role model by demonstrating the love of God at home and everywhere.

Prof/Dr Solomon Brobbey is a multi-faceted Christian Education Professional with specialisation in Media Studies, Theology and Personal Training and Development.

He is an academic board member of Legacy Life University, representing UK and Europe. His Academic experience covers various Faculty roles in Milton Keynes Bible College in collaboration with Charis Bible College, International College of Excellence and Life Christian University. Board member of Emmaus School of Theology and Principal of Milton Keynes Ministerial College, England, UK

He is a consultant in Corporate Leadership and Management Training and Development with Chriddos Apex and Law and Development Associates Ltd. UK

SOLOMON BROBBEY

Sammy N. Addy realized his purpose for the Kingdom while he was a teenager in Accra, Ghana a West-African Country. God hand picked him from among his peers to “bring Hope and Restoration to the Nations and help people to develop their whole man (spirit, soul and body) to fulfill their God given destiny”. His passion is to educate, motivate, and empower individuals, leaders and ministers to be all God has called them to be by not allowing society to put them in a box or be limited to the “status quo”.

He relocated to the United States of America in February 1995 as a church planter and a missionary. During this period, he went to New York Theological Seminary as well as excelled in his Academics at the College of New Rochelle. He expanded his proficiency in Christian Counseling by taking a counseling course at the New York Christian Counseling Center.

He currently holds a doctor of theology degree from Crossroads Theological Seminary. He has been an integral part of planting churches in his home country (Ghana), Europe, North America and the Caribbean.

SAMMY ADDY

Sammy N. Addy is an Apostle with a Pastors’ heart and has enormous experience in strategic church planting. His continuing experience gives him great passion for ministers and their ministries. His knowledge in Spiritual Leadership and Church Planting strategies make him a resource for young pastors and their ministries.

Sammy N. Addy is married to Adeline Addy, who is the Executive Pastor of Wisdom Chapel International and President of “Daughters Of Destiny”, a women’s ministry of Wisdom Chapel International. She is a pastor and a teacher of the word, with a lot of passion to serve God’s people. They are both blessed with four sons who all serve with them at Wisdom Chapel International in the Bronx, New York City.

Bishop Derek G. Owens was born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, by his parents, Leroy & Peggy Owens. Bishop Owens received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost (speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance) at age 20.+In 1987 Bishop Owens married the former+Sheila Denise Coates. Their happy union has produced (4) children: Marques, Aaron, Danielle, and Stephan. After marriage in 1987, the LORD quickly moved Bishop Owens into the ministry; he was an ordained teacher by 1988, ordained Elder in 1990, and ordained Bishop in 1995.Bishop Owens has an undergraduate degree from American International College in Management Information Systems and a Master’s in Computer Science from New York University. Bishop Owens works for a leading Telecommunications Company as an Enterprise Network Architect. Bishop Owens also served as a Chaplain for Shalom Nursing Home. He taught several classes at a Theological Institute in Mount Vernon, NY. The Lord showed Bishop Owens in a vision that as he travels across the world doing the work of Corporate America, He will also travel globally doing the Lord’s Work.In 2004, The Lord dealt mightily with Bishop Owens to start a church,+The GoldenSword International Fellowship Church, a non-denominational church subscribing to the Reformed Pentecostal theological position. Bishop Owens was appointed the

first Police Chaplin in the cityof Bronxville.In 2011, Bishop Owens founded the GoldenSword Economic Development Corporation (GEDC)to remedy social and economic disparities and bridge socioeconomic voids in urban America. Anonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, GEDC works to impact the lives of individuals and families residing in historically underserved communities by implementing programs established under the umbrella of its core initiatives.+Bishop Owens desires to see souls saved and liberated, bodies healed, and God’s people delivered!

Apostle Dr. Samuel A. Appiah is the founder and General Overseer of Hill of the Lord Ministries in Long Island NY. He is an Author of Creative Power of the Tongue “ Creating New Possibilities”. He holds a doctorate in in Divinity, and married to Ruth Ward- Appiah with 3 children.

APOSTLE DR. SAMUEL A. APPIAH

Ben Enoma holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education Policy from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. His academic Specializations are Educational Policies and School Leadership. His research interests include: the social history of Education, Critical Pedagogy, School renewals and reforms, Education in a democracy and the apprenticeship of Liberty. He is the Chief enrollment officer at Touro University’s Division of Graduate and Professional Studies and a senior faculty member at Touro’s Graduate School of Education (GSE), Education Leadership program training Building and district administrators.

Dr. Ben served as a trustee and Board Secretary of the Neighborhood Bible Study (NBS) organization in Dobbs Ferry, NY from 20002007. Neighborhood Bible Studies (NBS) began in the 1960s at a time of significant societal change. Billy Graham crusades were awakening people to their need for a relationship with Jesus and to the importance of studying the Bible. NBS grew rapidly within five years, 200 groups were meeting in the northern suburbs of New York City. Soon, groups began to multiply in pockets all over the U.S. and Canada. NBS then spread to other countries including England, France, Germany, South Africa, the Netherlands, Jordan, and Spain. NBS study guides were translated into twenty-five different

Pastor Helen Davis has served in ministry leadership for over twenty years with a passion to see men and women impacted and transformed by growing in the Word of God and developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Helen firmly, believes and teaches that a relationship with God and His uncompromising Word, is the only means by which true fruitfulness and success in life can be accomplished.

She serves as a one of the Pastors of Love Legacy Chapel International under the leadership of Apostle William Shalders. Pastor Helen has attended The Hugee Theological Seminary, The Vision Bible Institute through the Bethel Gospel Assembly Church and has pursued courses at The Christian International School of Theology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and a Masters of Literary Studies from CUNY Lehman College. She is a certified facilitator of the Purity With Purpose Discipleship course for women. A program designed to teach the value of biblical purity and to assist women from all walks of life in discovering their ordained purpose as means to successful Christian living.

Pastor Helen currently, is a member of the Watchmen Intercessory Team and the Leader of the Women’s Ministry at the Middletown

NY Campus of LLCI. She is a gifted teacher and expositor of the Word and undergirds the vision of the ministry as a member of the teaching team for LLCI’s weekly Interactive Bible Study.

Pastor Helen dedicated over 35 years of her life and ministry to the support and education of young children and their families. Upon retiring as Senior Director of one of the largest Early Childhood Programs in NYC, the Lord transitioned her years of experience, and she became the Founder and Executive Director of Divinely Beautiful, a ministry designed to provide support and Christian Counsel to abortion vulnerable women and men.

Of all her accomplishments, she holds in highest esteem that God has blessed her with three remarkable sons and eight wonderful purpose-filled grand-children. And that He also has connected her to the loving family of Love Legacy Chapel International where the vision is to see the world set ablaze with revival in preparation for our soon coming “KING”, through the outpouring of God’s Immeasurable Love.

CHERYL HARDIN, MD

Dr. Hardin will utilize information learned at LLU, coupled with 30+ years of medical practice, to further her vision of caring for the medically underserved.

I exist to encourage men, build our capacity and assist in navigating the complexities of this ever changing world through the lens of God. Pastor Chris has served as an associate pastor with Love Legacy Chapel International since its inception and is the overseer of the Bronx Campus He designs classes, teaches Bible Study and coordinates scheduling of various ministerial courses for both leadership and church members who seek to pursue their ministerial call. As a sworn in New York State Chaplain, I train ‘student chaplains’ in various roles of Chaplaincy and First Responder duties; conducting trainings for private companies, clergy, and police.

Members of the Board of Trustees, Representatives of Mayor Destefanos, representatives and f Senator Skouffis, faculty, staff, family members, friends, and students of the graduating class of 2023— It’s a tremendous honor to be with you today, and a privilege to speak to you on such a momentous occasion. As a native of Africa now a New Yorker, a blood-bought Christian, and a Reformed Minister, I am especially delighted to share in this day with you — for it deeply encourages me to see our school Legacy Life University - a Christ-centered institution is here equipping students to be firmly grounded in biblical truth. It heartens me that LLU is here physically on the East coast and virtually global teaching theology, Leadership and Business and finance from a Christian world-view, and cultivating a Reformed perspective in the next generation. And it greatly encourages me that LLU is recruiting, equipping and deploying Christian men and women to fulfill ministry, career and business.

Our ultimate aim in life is not for worldly status, cultural notoriety, or material gain, but to glorify God in all things, and to fully enjoy Him forever.

I want to commend you, the students, for having made Legacy Life University your place of study. It shows no small measure of maturity, wisdom, and foresight to decide upon a college devoted to the unshakable truth of God’s Word— that Word above all earthly powers which, by the Spirit, is breaking into this present evil age and saving sinners for whom Christ died. You’ve chosen a college that not only cares about your intellectual formation, but also your spiritual growth— not only the development of your mind, but the strengthening of your soul in Christ.

Abraham Kuiper once said, “He is your friend who pushes you nearer to God.” If Kuiper is right (and he is!), then legacy Life University has been a good and faithful friend to you these past semesters of studies

In addition to having chosen an excellent college, I commend you today for persevering in your academic studies. Indeed, it’s no small achievement that you are among the graduates in the year 2023; for this has been one of the most challenging seasons in our nation’s history. No one could have predicted the unfolding events of the past three years. The pandemic, the general election, and the racial tensions together formed a perfect and devastating storm of confusion and dissension in our culture. You’ve been required to mask-up, separate, and Zoom-in to what is normally a time of embodied fellowship and face to face interaction. The obstacles during your course of study have been immense. Nevertheless, dear graduate, even with all of these obstacles, you persevered. By God’s grace, you carried on and you finished. And everyone here today is proud of you for showing such dogged determination in the

face of these unprecedented challenges. Well done, dear graduate, well done!

In preparation for my remarks today, I asked myself, “How can I encourage newly minted college graduates in such a time as this?”

I came up with three exhortations.

2. Live Only by Truth

3. Live Always with Courage

Mr Chancellor, members of the Board of Trustees, members of faculty and administration parents, friends, honored guests, and graduates, thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak today at this magnificent commencement ceremony.

The world doesn’t care how many times you fall down, as long as it’s one fewer than the number of times you get back up. I have been part of Legacy Life University since its inception together with my three children Wyllis, WylAimee, WylErin who later on had to divert into ventures to discovering their life purpose. They are very supportive and always there to catch our fall. There’s a story about a man and a woman who have been married for forty years. One evening at dinner, the woman turns to her husband and says, “You know, forty years ago on our wedding day, you told me that you loved me, and you haven’t said those words since.” They sit in silence for a long moment before the husband says, “If I change my mind, I’ll let you know.” Two newborn babies are lying side by side in the hospital nursery and they glance at each other. 90 years later through a remarkable coincidence, the two are back in the same hospital, lying side by side in the same hospital room. They look at each other and one of them says, “So what’d you think?’ It’s gonna be a very long time before you have to answer that question, but

time shifts gears right now and starts to gain speed. Just ask your parents, whose heads, I promise you, are exploding right now. They think they took you home from the maternity ward last month. They think you learned how to walk last week. They don’t understand how you could possibly be getting a degree in something today. Legacy Life University is a place where serious people gather to prepare themselves as the Lord’s battle axe to lead the army of their purpose during their given time on earth. Lead the world with godly character, direction and resounding legacies of truth. The epitome of leadership and endurance. Today it is exciting to see this place full of memories for those of us who have spent years here, and it will be for you if the Lord leads you here some of the best memories you’ll have for the rest of your days.

In every career, there are certain, let’s call it occupational hazards, and the ministry is no exception. In ministry, perhaps with that in mind, we might call them besetting sins by that, I mean those areas that we’re prone to fall into more easily, those temptations we tend to yield to a little more often than we even want to admit to come to mind and they are perhaps the most familiar to us in the ranks of ministry we wrestle with them and you as you are involved in a life of ministry. The first one is the more popular or the more commonly found of the two and it would be hypocrisy. Hypocrisy has to do with trying to be someone we’re not. Leaving an impression that we are someone other than who we really are, running a close second with duplicity appearing one thing to one person and another thing to someone else it is clearly a lack of authenticity hypocrites are not authentic that is when we fall into hypocrisy we are in authentic in our lives in our words in our responses our actions people who are hypocrites busy themselves posing now the second and the more subtle of the two is envy. Envy has to do with wishing we were in

someone else’s skin or somehow in either subtle or not-so-subtle ways, putting other people down who are truly demonstrating strengths we may not have wish we did or virtues that they have cultivated better than we and, therefore we fall into the very common habit of comparing. Hypocrites pose those who fall into envy Ask yourself how long do I want to live my life wearing someones else clothing and how ling will I continue to compare myself with other?. There is a world out there with mouth wide open wide, an open market ready to receive. Legacy life trains you to discover yourself that you have ot live with all the days of your life which you fail to look at because this is the annoying and disappointing self. Who am I leading and where do I want to lead myself and the people I m leading to? The three great quotes I adore and adhere to

“If you take out the team in teamwork, it just works. Now, who wants that? “We rise by lifting others.”

Go lead yourself and lead others well. Train your character to be well and healthy. Life is a training ground and its school curriculum requires us to train the body soul, emotion, and spirit to adjust. Daily adjustments is needed to conform to society don’t use hypocrisy or envy. Use genuinity and love to mold your legacy.

Nana Kweisi Bediako is pastor in charge of Change Makers International Assembly NJ. He is a worshipper, songwriter, author, producer, international motivational speaker and entrepreneur.

Nana Bediako has a unique talent for presenting the Word of God in a very simple but powerful way for his audiences to understand and be able to relate to. His passion is a holistic approach to developing people to reach their God-given potential and talents in ministry, family, finance and professional life.

Also a healthcare professional, his empathetic nature makes him appealing to many people and he is passionate about promoting health and wellness. Nana B’s calling is to build up the young generation through God’s word and music.

It gives me great pleasure to be standing here representing the class of 2023. First, I would like to give thanks to my Heavenly Father, who is the author and finisher of my faith. I want to take this opportunity in recognizing the class of 2023, the Founder, Apostle William Shalders, Co-Founder, Pastor Belinda Shalders, Faculty, Staff, Students, Clergies, Families, Friends and everyone in their respective place.

My Apostle William Shalders, someone once said “ Behind every great man, there is a great woman.” On July 31, 2021, when I walked through the doors of Legacy Life University, I was greeted by 33 students from different walks of life. Legacy Life University has given me the opportunity to meet my brothers and sisters in Christ. We have formed a bond amongst each other, a love that can never be broken,

and we have grown to be a global family. Each of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ is unique in their own way and I love them with Pure Kingdom Love. The courses at Legacy Life University have given us life experience and a multitude of opportunities to engage with each other, working together, encouraging each other in the building of God’s Kingdom. Legacy Life University has taught me truths about the unadulterated word of God given by my anointed teacher, Apostle William Shalders. The weekly lectures from Apostle William Shalders have been nothing short of amazing “ I would like to take this time to say how grateful I am for the opportunity to attend Legacy Life University. I have learned so much and have grown in more ways than I could ever imagine. My experience over the past years at Legacy Life University has been amazing! I give God all the Glory and Honor for allowing me to be a part of this life changing experience at this amazing institution of learning.

Class of 2023, demonstrated God’s love by walking in unity with each other. By doing so, we are so advancing in helping building the Kingdom of God together.

The word of God said in Proverbs 27:17 “ Iron sharpen Iron.” The courses are designed to equip each student to enable each one to function in their calling of their ministry. The courses and content give us a wider perspective of ministry. It gives us the opportunity to come away from our circle into a large circle for networking locally and globally. I am amazed as to how much I have learned and grown in the word of God. Truly these classes have offered practical, hands-on experience and were an eye opener for me. It provided growth and edification.

I just want to highlight two of the courses that truly inspired me and challenged me to come up higher. The classes are Leadership One and Discovering My Ministry.

He who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander. Leadership is not about power or crowd. Big crowds are interested in feeding not changing. There are people that want miracles and handouts, not the change. If you want to be a world changer you have to feed on the word of God. If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more you are a leader. The scripture says in the book of 2 Timothy 2:15 “ Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Secondly, Discovering My Ministry. Ministry is about serving and having a servant's heart. We all have different gifts according to the grace of Jesus on the cross of calvary. God has given each of us spiritual gifts. Gift of breaking ground, gift of administration, gift of prophecy, gift of leadership, gift of wisdom, gift of knowledge, gift of healing, and gift of giving and serving. Today, I would like to leave this acronym with you class of 2023 SHAPED and thank God for Apostle William Shalders and Pastor Lady Belinda Shalders who have listened to the voice of God and imparted so much to us here at Legacy Life University, a University that is touching hearts all over the world.

What kind of person are you? Never forget the woman at the well had Personality and Patience.

God will never waste an experience. Your experience will equip you for the tasks ahead. Think of Joseph, Moses, Daniel and the three Hebrews boys. Their experience SHAPED them for their task ahead.

Class of 2023, please rise to your feet. What is our Destiny? We are anointed, appointed and destined to do God's will. I now encourage us to go out into the market place and put into practice what we have learned. Thank you and God bless you all!

President Legacy Life University, members of the faculty, and members of the graduating class at this great institution of learning, ladies and gentlemen: Words are certainly inadequate for me to express my great appreciation to Apostle William Shalders for honoring me with this opportunity today. I would like to take the next few minutes to share a brief message on making your bed. When I started drafting my speech I thought about keeping it simple. I thought about just telling you all about my experiences here with this program, the courses I took, how it impacted my life and my recommendations for future students who wanted to enroll here. I’m definitely going to do that or else Legacy Life University will find someone else to give this speech.

Before I get to that, I want to share some words I heard from Admiral William H. McRaven. On May 19th 2014 Admiral McRaven gave a commencement speech at the University of Texas. In it he said “If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed.” He said, “making your bed will teach you that the little things in life matter and if you can’t do the little things right you’ll never be able to do the big things right.” It’s taken doing many little things right for all of us to graduate today. I’m certain completing this program wasn’t the only thing on your plate. We all have to work. Some of us even

have multiple jobs. This is America after all, there’s no free lunch anywhere, especially for people like us. Still, we made to this point. It wasn’t easy but we found a way. We did all the little things right.

The best thing I can say about this program is that it gives you the opportunity to learn one step at a time. It teaches you that just because you have a busy life, doesn’t mean you have to stop learning. I’m proud of you all for making it this far. Keep on going. Keep on learning. I know that as long as we keep doing the little things right, we shall always overcome.
