Hello from the Sandhills At Legacy Golf Package, we have enjoyed living and golfing in the Sandhill’s for over 27 years. We not only have the knowledge of golf but have also perfected the art of planning other’s packages, making it easy for you to book and leave the work to us. Aside from our own expertise, we have organized a group of over 50 local golfers of varied handicaps, who play avidly. We receive their feedback daily, so we are always current on conditions, aside from the usual aerification, overseeding and other maintenance schedules. We offer pre-set packages, for the ease of a weekend getaway or we can customize courses and lodging to better fit your needs. Depending on the time of year or weekday rates, you may obtain a lower package rate, than that which is advertised, so just inquire when you are ready. All packages and quotes we offer are always, all inclusive. There are no surprises, aside from what you will think after a great trip to the Sandhills!

The first of the two 18-hole courses is the Lake Course. The Lake Course opened for play in 1971. Winding around the 315-acre Lake Trace, the Lake Course's captivating views can make maintaining focus on one's golf game exceedingly difficult. The generous-sized fairways are Bermuda grass with the new greens featuring Mini-Verde, an ultra-dwarf Bermuda.

Considered to be the most challenging, the Grey Fox Course covers hilly terrain with several doglegs cut through towering pines. Shot making is a premium on this well bunkered layout with characteristic elevated greens. Heavily guarded with deep bunkers, golfers find it important to position the ball on the proper side of the fairway to get the best approach angle to these slightly smaller greens.

Water comes into play on 6 holes requiring forced carries from the back tees but with the option of going around the hazards from the forward tees. Donald Ross style bunkers appear as though they are greenside, but in fact, are up to fifteen yards short of the putting green.
As a group, these holes represent some of the finest par-3 holes you will ever play, using every iron in your bag to play them. The course traverses natural, rolling land that is tucked within the back nine of the Magnolia course. The Azalea plays to a ninehole par 27, but two sets of tees enables you to get 18 different looks.

Railhouse Brewery is owned by Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans and is distributed in North & South Carolina, Georgia, and South Korea. Our iconic American Flag bottle caps distinguish us on the shelves of local grocers and bottle shops as does our focus on malted barley providing balanced beers to the masses. The Brewery originally opened its doors to the public in December 2010 introducing locals to flavorful craft beer. The two original founders of the brewery, Brian Evitts (veteran of the U.S. Navy) and Mike Ratkowski (veteran of the U.S. Army) met as managers of the same company.

Southern Pines Brewing Company first started as an idea in March of 2013. Micah, John, and Jason were at the mid-point of their military careers as Green Berets in the U.S. Army, and they all served on the same Operational Detachment Alpha Team in 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After being reassigned, the three teammates decided to turn in their uniforms for brewers’ boots to start a craft brewery.

The owners of Hatchet, Mike and Greg, met as neighbors while Greg was in Special Forces training and Mike was the Senior Operations Sergeant Major of the 82nd Airborne Division. Both quickly bonded over a love of brewing and their shared experiences in the military. Realizing how powerful brewing and a shared interest in craft beer can be, Mike and Greg wanted to create a place where people can relax, share experiences, and develop new friendships over great beer. So, in 2017, they established Hatchet Brewing Company and celebrated the grand opening with Southern Pines, North Carolina in the fall of 2019.

The historic steam plant provided power to the Village of Pinehurst at its inception in 1895. Overgrown and long abandoned, we saw a chance to bring the steam plant back to life.
