Try a Wine-Butter Basted Turkey this Season!

For your turkey dinner this year, why not try this buttery, moist twist. Before putting your prepared turkey in the oven to roast, rub the skin with softened butter, salt and pepper and then cover it with four layers of cheesecloth soaked in a mixture of 2/3 cup melted butter and 1 cup white wine.

Once the bird is in the oven, baste every 30 minutes (keep the cheesecloth covering) with the butter-wine mixture and drippings from the pan. To brown the skin, remove the cheesecloth when turkey is one hour from completely cooked. When cooked, remove from oven, cover and let rest for 20 minutes before carving. Prepare gravy from drippings.
