It is the policy of LCA to maintain a school environment that is free from discrimination and to conduct its educational practices, admissions program, financial aid policies, hiring, and other school-administrative programs on the basis of an individual’s qualifications and abilities. The School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (unless it is required as a bona fide occupational qualification), sex, national origin, age, marital status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law, unless a particular status protected by federal, state, or local laws contradicts the deeply held religious convictions of LCA.
DEAR LEGACY COMMUNITY,
When my wife, Irina, and I first became part of the Legacy Christian Academy family, we knew this was more than just a school. It was a Christ-centered community committed to shaping the hearts and minds of young people for God’s glory. Nearly a decade later, we remain profoundly grateful for the blessing of watching our daughters, Olivia (’28) and Adele (’32), grow in wisdom, knowledge, and faith through the influence of this extraordinary community.
As Legacy steps into its 26th year, I am reminded of the words in Isaiah 43:19 (ESV): “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” These words capture both the faithfulness of our past and the expectancy of what God is doing right now at Legacy.
From the very beginning, Legacy Christian Academy was built on a firm foundation of faith. Key families answered God’s call with courage, prayer, and sacrificial generosity. Their vision and obedience established the strong roots from which our school continues to grow. Today, we honor those who laid the groundwork and celebrate how their faithfulness continues to bear fruit in the lives of our students.
Because of that foundation and because of your partnership today, LCA is flourishing. Together, we are:
• Equipping students with academic excellence grounded in a biblical worldview.
• Fostering leadership development and discipleship opportunities that prepare students to live boldly for Christ.
• Expanding opportunities in athletics, fine arts, and extracurriculars.
• Providing financial assistance to families who share our mission.
• Enhancing the safety, security, and facilities that allow our students to thrive.
Your investment is not simply building a stronger school. It is shaping the lives of future leaders who will go out and impact the world for Christ. As both a father and your board chairman, I can say with confidence that the seeds you are sowing today are bearing fruit in the lives of students like Olivia and Adele, and in the lives of every student who walks these halls.
As we continue into our 26th year, let us hold fast to the promise that God is indeed “doing a new thing” in and through Legacy Christian Academy. With gratitude for the past and great expectation for the future, I look forward to seeing how He will continue to use this community to advance His Kingdom for generations to come.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jeff Owens LCA Board of Trustees Chair
DEAR LEGACY FAMILY,
What a joy and honor it is for our family to serve as this year’s Annual Fund Chairs.
Since 2011, we have had the privilege of walking the halls of Legacy Christian Academy, watching our boys, Jackson (’25), Collin (’27), and Harrison (’33), grow not just academically but in their identity as Christ-followers and servant leaders. This place has truly become an extension of our home and our heart.
Over the years, we have been involved in many aspects of campus life, from athletics and cheer to volunteer efforts and Bible study. In every space, we have seen God’s hand at work. We have seen prayers answered, faith ignited, and students launched into the world anchored in truth. Time and again, we are reminded that when we faithfully show up through time, resources, and prayer, God moves in ways we never could have imagined.
Our calling as Annual Fund Chairs this year is simple but sacred. We want to help tell the story of God’s faithfulness through Legacy and invite others to join that story. The Annual Fund fuels the very heart of our mission. It enhances our mission, allowing every student to thrive in an environment where Christ is central, excellence is pursued, and leaders are developed for Kingdom impact.
As parents, pastors, and partners in ministry, we have seen the fruit of Legacy’s vision in the lives of our children and in countless others. That is why we are passionate about inviting every family into this work. When we give in obedience, we invest in something that will outlast us: transformed lives, rooted in Christ and prepared to impact the world.
Thank you for the ways you love and support Legacy. Thank you for giving, praying, and believing alongside us. We truly believe the best is yet to come.
With hearts full of gratitude, Morgan & Brad Sugg 2025-26 Annual Fund Chairs
ANNUAL FUND ENHANCEMENTS
What an incredible season we have experienced at Legacy Christian Academy!
As we celebrated our 25th anniversary, we were reminded time and again of God’s unfailing faithfulness to this community. During the ’24–’25 fiscal year, 44% of our families participated in LCA’s Annual Fund. Because of your generosity and commitment, more than $2 million was invested in initiatives that have strengthened our mission and enriched the educational journey of every student.
Your support made possible a season of meaningful growth during this milestone year. We advanced campus improvements, enhanced safety across our facilities, and expanded academic, fine arts, and athletic opportunities that cultivate both excellence and faith. These completed efforts, rooted in our shared vision for exceptional Christian education, continue to equip students to become leaders prepared to impact the world for Christ.
The heart of this work extends far beyond buildings and programs—it is about shaping lives and planting seeds of eternal significance. As we reflect on a quarter-century of God’s provision, we are reminded of Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 3:7: “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” Each gift to the Annual Fund has been part of this greater story of growth, as God continues to bless the mission of Legacy and the lives of our students.
The Annual Fund remains essential to advancing this mission. It ensures that Legacy can continue offering opportunities that inspire curiosity, encourage spiritual formation, and prepare students to step boldly into God’s calling for their lives.
Thank you for your generous partnership and for your role in this 25-year story of Kingdom impact. Together, we celebrate God’s past faithfulness and look ahead in confidence, trusting Him to continue shaping the future of Legacy Christian Academy for generations to come.

A STORY BEHIND THE NAMES
WRITTEN BY: MADI KOOP
Legacies are formed through faith and family.
At Legacy Christian Academy, they are also etched into the very bricks of our campus through the faithfulness of our founders.
THROUGH THE GENERATIONS, THEIR NAMES TELL OUR STORY
Twenty-five years ago, LCA completed construction on its first permanent building, which we now call the South Campus.
From the earliest gatherings at the Abbey in Downtown Frisco to Frisco Bible Church, a dream began to take shape through the prayers and determination of the founding families. What started with small beginnings quickly grew as more families joined together, prompting the need for additional space. Built through
the dedication of families who trusted the Lord and the calling He placed on their hearts, LCA became a school committed to balancing academics, athletics, and the arts. Even the walls themselves speak to the faith and perseverance that carried the school forward into the sprawling campus it is today.
THE PHYLLIS RAY CHAPEL
The Phyllis Ray Chapel is often the first glimpse of Legacy Christian Academy that greets drivers along Legacy Drive.
Its steeple, tall and unwavering, points heavenward and quietly reminds all who pass of the school’s foundation, a community united by faith in Christ. From the very beginning, Bobby and Phyllis Ray believed that Legacy was meant to be. Though they had no children enrolled, their love for education and their belief in the vision God had given to Jody Capehart and the founding families compelled them to act. When asked, their immediate response was, “What do you need?” With courage and conviction, they helped personally finance the initial needs that got Legacy Christian Academy off the ground, making sacrifices that would forever alter its story. Without their leap of faith,
Legacy may never have launched. Their passion, generosity, and unwavering support were not born out of personal gain but out of a genuine love for the Kingdom. The Rays longed for a place where children could worship God. Their example of selfless stewardship continues to speak volumes today. Bobby was the school’s first board chair, faithfully guiding Legacy in its earliest days. Today, their great-grandchildren walk the halls of LCA, a living testimony to the lasting impact of Bobby and Phyllis’s faith and sacrifice. Because of them and their quiet but resolute belief that Legacy would not fail, generations of students have and will continue to encounter the love of Christ within these walls.
ALLISON FAMILY SPORTS COMPLEX
The Allison family name is deeply cherished by the Legacy community. It is no exaggeration to say that because of the generosity and determination of Mr. and Mrs. Jay and Jenny Allison, alongside other faithful families, Legacy Christian Academy stands where it does today.
Mr. Jay Allison, who serves as CEO of Comstock Resources and served as LCA’s Board Chairman for many years, has personally poured into the mission of LCA. He and his wife Jenny invested time, resources, heart, and finances into this school, setting a foundation that continues to bless generations.
The Allisons are known not only for their leadership but also for their faith. It was once said, “To them, every person is an eternal soul, and they have always understood that Legacy Christian Academy is not simply a place to learn math, science, and history, as important as those may be. It is primarily a place where students encounter the truth of the gospel and come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.” From the earliest days, Mr. and Mrs. Allison claimed this as Christ’s school, built for His glory, and they gave of themselves at every level to see it flourish. Their story is also a family legacy: three of their
children graduated from LCA, and today their grandson carries that heritage forward as a Legacy Eagle.
The Allison family’s fingerprints are woven into the very identity of this school. Their love for Christ and unwavering generosity remind us that Legacy Christian Academy is more than an institution; it is a testimony of faith, sacrifice, and the glory of God. For generations, the Allisons have been planting seeds at LCA, and through their prayerful hearts and steadfast support, our school continues to flourish. The Allison Family Sports Complex is just one example of their enduring legacy. This complex, home to the Comstock football field and Jay Allison baseball field, allows our community to gather, grow, and compete as one. “Just as the Allisons say that Christ works through them, we named these facilities in honor of Christ in them,” says Head of School Kevin Mosley.
BURNS FAMILY GYM
Mr. Roland Burns, CFO of Comstock Resources, together with his wife Sheryl, played a pivotal role in the shaping of the LCA campus.
Several years after the field and sports complex were built, the need for a fully equipped gymnasium became clear. “The gym in the Lower School was small and there wasn’t much space around the court,” Coach Embry recalls. When construction began on Phase I of the Upper School in 2008, the gym was first on the list. At that time, Roland and Sheryl Burns faithfully served Legacy together and gave generously to our gym initiative. Together, they brought vision, faith, and steadfast commitment, championing ideas that reflected their heart for the school, including the bronze eagle statue that still welcomes students and visitors in the gymnasium lobby as a lasting symbol of strength and spirit. Both Roland and Sheryl devoted themselves to Legacy, not for recognition, but because they deeply believed in the mission. Mr. and Mrs. Burns served on the board together side by side for years, laying a financial foundation that was strong and sustainable, ensuring the school would thrive for
future generations. “The strong financial stewardship of the school was, in significant part, due to the Burns’s leadership,” Mr. Mosley reflects. Yet their contributions went beyond boardrooms and balance sheets. Sheryl gave of her own talents as a gifted photographer, faithfully capturing athletic triumphs, school milestones, and quiet moments that now live on as treasured memories for countless families.
The Burns family’s legacy is one of faithfulness and generosity, lived out in both word and deed. They gave more than resources; they gave of themselves. Their love for Legacy Christian Academy helped carry the school through seasons of growth and challenge, and their devotion remains etched into its story, blessing students and families for years to come. All three of their children graduated from Legacy, and now two of their grandchildren continue that heritage as Eagles, a living testimony to the impact of their enduring commitment.
STOCKTON PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
The Stockton Performing Arts Center, completed in 2016 through the Complete the Legacy campaign, bears the name of Tom and Sandy Stockton, whose lives and leadership are woven into the very fabric of Legacy Christian Academy.
Their impact is not defined by a single gift or act of service but by the steady rhythm of servant-hearted leadership that has marked their journey with LCA from the beginning.
Sandy, who served as an administrative assistant in the athletic department during the school’s early years, embodied a quiet faithfulness. Whatever the need, she filled it, pouring out her time and energy with joy and never asking for anything in return. Her life reflects the heart of Christ in ways that blessed countless students, parents, and faculty. Tom, meanwhile, gave not only his resources but his whole self to the mission of the school. Known by some as the unofficial chaplain during his time on the board, he prayed over decisions, encouraged weary leaders, and stood as a rock of steady conviction. His leadership of the Complete the Legacy campaign, which produced the final phase of the North Campus, was guided by vision, devotion, and an unwavering belief that God had great plans for LCA.
For the Stocktons, this was personal. Their four children graduated from Legacy, participating in concerts and productions that fueled Tom’s love for the arts and his desire to see them flourish. He knew students needed more than a cafeteria stage to showcase their God-given gifts. He was on the campaign construction committee. When challenges arose, the Stockton’s gave generously to ensure the work was done with excellence. “There was a moment when we realized we did not have the right soundboard,” Mr. Mosley recalls. “Because he was dedicated to excellence, Tom made sure we got the right one.” Coach Embry adds, “He has always been a cheerful giver and a humble one.”
Yet their legacy stretches beyond bricks and mortar. The Stocktons’ prayerful leadership helped move forward the second phase of the Upper School, and even after their children graduated, Tom remained invested in building and strengthening LCA. What they gave was more than money or time—it was their hearts, their faith, and their steadfast belief in what this school could be. Tom and Sandy Stockton created a legacy of servant leadership that continues to shape who we are today and will bless generations of students yet to come.
In 2023, the school dedicated the auditorium to the Stocktons to acknowledge their dedication and generosity.
When we walk our campus today, the names Allison, Ray, Burns, and Stockton are more than names on buildings. They are living reminders of the men and women whose faith, vision, and sacrifice laid the foundation for all that Legacy Christian Academy has become. Each name tells a story of prayerful courage, of generosity that asked nothing in return, and of leadership rooted in Christ. These families remind us that legacies are formed through faith and family. They are also etched into the very bricks of this campus through the steadfast devotion of our founders and benefactors. Because of their faithfulness, generations of students continue to worship, learn, compete, and grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ within these walls.
A LEGACY WITHIN LEGACY Educator Highlight THE BECK FAMILY:
WRITTEN BY: MADI KOOP
At Legacy Christian Academy, “legacy” is more than a name— it’s a living story of faith and family that continues to grow.
Sometimes that story comes full circle, with mothers- and daughters-in-law serving the school side by side. One of those families? The Becks.
The Beck name has been part of LCA since 2002 and is familiar to alumni, parents, teachers, and students alike. For more than twenty-three years, Mrs. Sheryl Beck has taught math to students of all ages, creating classrooms where learning is engaging, challenges are met with determination, and problem-solving becomes a cause for celebration. With three children who joined LCA when she began teaching, Sheryl’s story intertwines deeply with the school’s history—beginning the same
year the first playground on campus was built, a project the Becks and many other parents helped make possible.
“I have watched the whole progression of Legacy and have worked under all the headmasters,” Sheryl reflects. “Legacy is really my second family.”
For a time, Sheryl was the only Beck employed at LCA—until her daughterin-law, Mrs. Amanda Beck, joined the LCA family two years ago as a first-grade teacher. While the two teach in different
buildings and don’t see each other daily, they love crossing paths during in-service days, pep rallies, and homecoming events.
“It’s special for me to hear stories from other staff members about the Beck family and the roles they played in shaping the school,” Amanda shares. “They even helped build the playground that I now take my class out to play on!”
As one of LCA’s long-standing teachers, Sheryl encourages Amanda in her teaching journey. In turn, Sheryl enjoys
watching her daughter-in-law’s patience and creativity flourish with her young students. “Working alongside others who value God’s Word means we can support each other in meaningful ways— through prayer and encouragement to keep the faith,” Amanda adds.
Both women are passionate about their ministry in the classroom and take their calling seriously. Sheryl guides her high school girls in faith during advisory, while Amanda prays with first graders
who desire a personal relationship with Jesus. Their shared mission—pointing students toward Christ—remains at the heart of all they do.
Outside the classroom, Sheryl and Amanda enjoy attending Legacy Night together, celebrating memories of the Beck children’s time at LCA. “It was special to share that experience with Amanda,” Sheryl says. “I like to tell her about how Legacy has changed and grown over the last 25 years.”
Amanda agrees. “It’s amazing to see how LCA staff poured into Evan’s life,” she adds, referring to her husband and LCA alumnus. “LCA helped shape his biblical worldview.”
Though most of the Beck family has graduated, their legacy continues through Sheryl and Amanda’s faithful service—teaching with excellence, loving their students well, and pointing hearts toward Christ.

THE ROACH FAMILY:
FAITH, FUN, AND A LASTING LEGACY
WRITTEN BY: MADI KOOP
Legacy Christian Academy wouldn’t be “Legacy” without Joey Roach, who is celebrating his tenth year of service at LCA. But did you know his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gracie Roach, also serves on campus as a 6th grade English teacher? Working at LCA together has strengthened their bond, allowing each to see and appreciate the other’s God-given gifts in action.
Whether it’s a whiteboard doodle left behind or a well-timed dad joke, Joey and Gracie encourage one another in the midst of their shared mission. Together, the Roaches represent another beautiful example of family legacy at LCA—one grounded in faith, joy, and a desire to point others toward Christ.
Over the past decade, LCA has been blessed with some of the best Christian educators—a truth well represented by the Roach family. When Joey first came to LCA ten years ago, he witnessed God’s hand in his journey from the very
beginning. “I feel that God has called me to mentor and prepare our next generation of Christian leaders,” he shares. Just a week before new teacher training began, he received the job offer that would officially plant him in the LCA community. Several years later, Gracie joined the team after transitioning from business to Christian education—a move that has since proven to be a perfect fit.
Upon arriving at LCA, Gracie quickly discovered her father-in-law’s reputation preceded him. “Parents are excited when I mention that Joey Roach is my father-
in-law,” she says with a smile. “They light up and tell me how much they love him!”
Both agree that working together is a blessing, often catching up during lunch or stopping by each other’s classrooms to chat and share ideas.
Being part of such a close-knit community allows the Roaches to witness one another’s ministry firsthand. “I admire Gracie’s humility and gratitude,” Joey says. “She pours creativity into every lesson and the love of Jesus into each child as she lifts them up in prayer. The godly woman you see at LCA is the
same one we see at home.” Gracie echoes that admiration. “He mentors me and is so trusted by both parents and students,” she explains. “He’s consistent, dedicated, and always ready to serve.”
Beyond encouragement, the two often collaborate, exchanging wisdom across generations. “Sometimes Gracie asks for guidance, and I’ll share a story from years ago that offers a different perspective,” Joey says. “And other times, I’m learning from her fresh ideas about connecting with middle schoolers.” Their shared commitment runs deep. “Most importantly, we have the same eternal goals,” they agree. “Whether we’re talking about something in the classroom or just life in general, we always end up coming back to what really matters.”
Of course, this dynamic father/ daughter-in-law duo also knows how to keep things lighthearted. With Gracie in House Ten Boom and Joey in House Lewis, their friendly rivalry comes alive during pep rallies and competitions. While playful teasing is common, both know where to draw the line—no family secrets allowed! After all, Gracie wouldn’t dream of revealing just how many Charlie Brown books or Home Depot buckets line Joey’s garage.
Together, the Roaches are part of a larger family—the LCA family. Surrounded by supportive colleagues, encouraging leadership, and prayerful parents, they continue to live out their faith in community. “LCA has shown us what it means to walk in faith together,” Gracie says. Partnering with others in the body of Christ to help raise up the next generation inspires the Roaches to continue their mission and leave behind a lasting family legacy of faith and love.

GROWING HEARTS, MINDS, AND BODIES:
Celebrating the Arrival of Art and PE at the ELC
At Legacy Christian Academy’s Early Learning Campus, we believe the earliest years of school are about so much more than learning ABCs and 123s— they’re about nurturing the whole child in an environment grounded in Christ’s love. That’s why our littlest Eagles now enjoy weekly Art classes and daily Physical Education as part of their regular schedule.
Each week, our young students will gather for Art—a time to imagine, create, and discover the beauty God has woven into His world. Whether they’re painting vibrant colors, sculpting with their hands, or simply experimenting with new materials, they’ll be learning to express their thoughts and feelings, develop fine motor skills, and find joy in the creative process. Art isn’t just about making something pretty; it’s about growing curiosity, confidence, and the courage to share their unique gifts.
Every day also brings an opportunity for movement, play, and building healthy habits through PE. Our children will jump, run, stretch, and dance as they strengthen their bodies and develop coordination and teamwork skills. This daily rhythm of activity helps them focus better in the classroom, builds resilience, and teaches them the importance of caring for the bodies God has given them.
Together, these new offerings help us live out our mission of providing a distinctly
Christian education. We’re not simply filling schedules with activities—we’re weaving Christ-centered values into every moment. As our littlest Eagles paint their first masterpieces or run their first relay, they’re also learning gratitude, cooperation, and the joy of glorifying God in all they do. These experiences
are shaping not only their skills but their hearts, planting seeds of faith and stewardship that will last a lifetime.
At Legacy Christian Academy, we’re honored to partner with families in building this foundation—one brushstroke, one jump, and one prayer at a time.
“God
is faithful because…” Lower School
Step into the Lower School hallway and you’ll find a sea of bright yellow hearts, each one handwritten by a student, each one telling a story. From simple joys like pets and playgrounds to profound moments of healing, hope, and answered prayers, these hearts hold more than just words, they’re evidence of childlike faith in a faithful God. In their own voices, our youngest students remind us that God’s goodness shows up in everyday moments. And in doing so, they invite all of us to pause, reflect, and remember His faithfulness too.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
[The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.]

INNOVATIVE CROSS-CURRICULAR PROJECT
Creating Resources that Communicate the Gospel
At Legacy Christian Academy, the Upper School launched an innovative cross-curricular project that brought together apologetics, Spanish 3 Honors, and Digital Design in a way that demonstrated both creativity and gospelcentered purpose.
The inspiration came from an “aha moment” during the LCA Christmas party for children with incarcerated parents. While students and teachers were doing their best to love and serve, they realized the kids were not leaving with anything tangible to continue learning about God’s love. That moment sparked a vision: to create a resource that would communicate the gospel simply and clearly—and be carried with them beyond that single event.
The apologetics classes took the lead in crafting the message. Students were grouped and tasked with writing eight clear, heartfelt paragraphs that explained the gospel in a way any sixth grader, regardless of background, could grasp. It wasn’t just an assignment—it was a competition that required students to wrestle with their faith and think deeply about how to communicate God’s truth in the simplest, most impactful way. The results were both thoughtful and powerful.
From there, Spanish 3 Honors stepped in to extend the reach of the project. Their job was not only to translate the words into Spanish, but also to capture the cultural nuances so that the message would be understood and embraced in different contexts. This step ensured that the gospel tract would be meaningful not just locally, but also internationally. Finally, the Digital Design class transformed the words into a visually engaging, kid-friendly tract that was fun, clear, and inviting to read.
The finished resource—created entirely by students—has already been distributed across the globe, reaching children in Honduras, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. More than just a school project, it became Legacy Christian Academy’s first student-created gospel tool designed for local, national, and international ministry. The process was fun, challenging, and deeply grounding for both students and teachers, reminding everyone involved not just of what they were learning, but why
they were learning it. Already, excitement is building for next year’s project, as students continue to wrestle with how to share God’s goodness through the lens of their academic disciplines.
SERVANT LEADERSHIP JOURNEY
Leading Through Service:
THE PTF
WRITTEN BY: MADI KOOP
LCA exists, in part, to be a unified family of believers, and the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) helps bring that mission to life in meaningful ways. As the school’s primary volunteer organization, PTF fosters connection, collaboration, and support among parents, teachers, and staff.
At Legacy, everyone is invited to take part in the body of Christ and the body of the school, and PTF provides countless opportunities to do so. From Bible studies and prayer walks to small acts of kindness like surprising teachers with Sonic drinks during Teacher Appreciation Week, PTF creates a spirit of joy and service that strengthens the entire Legacy community. Fellowship and faith-building are at the heart of PTF’s mission. In partnership with LCA staff, the parent-led group hosts prayer walks and weekly Bible studies for both men and women, creating space to study and spend time together in God’s Word. “We aren’t a church, but we want to help Legacy families along in their journeys,” says LCA’s Volunteer Relations Coordinator & Advancement Assistant, Shannon Culley. James Marsh, leader of the men’s Pathfinder group, shares this vision and emphasizes that spiritual leadership begins with showing up.
“When fathers show up on campus, we help shape the character and faith of the next generation,” he explains.
PTF is not only about study, it is also about joy. From men’s Top Golf outings to Eagle Mama Luncheons, the group offers many ways to build friendships and strengthen the Legacy family through fellowship.
One of the most meaningful aspects of PTF is the variety of volunteer opportunities it offers to parents on campus. “On campus, parents have a way to see firsthand what we do at LCA,” explains Shannon Culley. Parent volunteers have been the heartbeat of Legacy from the very beginning, blessing the school in countless ways. While serving, they also witness teachers loving, mentoring, and instructing their children, instilling the biblical convictions that define Legacy. None of this would be possible without the support of the LCA family. Through PTF, teachers are enabled to fully live out the mission to which they are called. “We want our teachers to be served well,” Shannon adds. That service takes many forms: making copies, hanging bulletin boards, setting up or tearing down at homecoming, helping cover classrooms during meetings, or even holding doors for students in the morning. “One of our greatest joys is supporting and encouraging teachers and staff,” says PTF Board President Jennifer Rush. “Whether it is through handing out a Sonic drink or simply lifting them up in prayer, seeing their smiles and knowing they feel appreciated is a true blessing.”
Legacy is richly blessed by parents who recognize the tireless dedication of teachers and staff as they partner together in raising student leaders. For many families, the most cherished role of PTF is teacher appreciation. Each year, parents eagerly sign up to deliver hundreds of Sonic drinks to LCA teachers, a beloved tradition that reminds them they are seen and valued., In-service lunches, and heartfelt notes of gratitude during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, are also made possible through PTF’s commitment to fostering a culture of encouragement at Legacy. In turn, this generosity continues to multiply as educators pour back into students and help shape the next generation of leaders.
With parent and family fingerprints visible throughout the school, it is no wonder Legacy’s community continues to flourish. Engaging the whole family is one of the core desires of our school, uniting us under a shared faith. Through the servant
leadership of PTF, students grow, families thrive, teachers are supported and cared for, lasting friendships are built, and the Legacy body works together in harmony. Just as Paul reminds us in Corinthians that every member of the body has unique value, PTF blesses the LCA community by using the gifts and skills of its members to encourage and spur others on toward good deeds.
Homecoming
Legacy Christian’s Homecoming parade brought our community together in a joyful celebration of school spirit, tradition, and gratitude. Families lined the route while floats, music, and celebration carried Legacy spirit through the heart of our community. Last year we were especially honored to welcome Mrs. Jody Capehart, Legacy’s founding Head of School, as our Grand Marshal. Her presence reminded us of the faith-filled vision and steadfast leadership that laid the foundation for all we enjoy today. The Homecoming parade remains a beloved tradition at Legacy, bringing together past, present, and future Eagles in a true celebration of community and God’s goodness.

GrandEagles’ Day
LCA’s halls overflowed with joy and gratitude as we welcomed grandparents and special friends for one of our most cherished traditions, GrandEagles’ Day.
From the youngest learners in our Early Learning Campus to our 4th grade students preparing to launch into middle school, students were blessed to share the day with those who have prayed for them, encouraged them, and cheered them on every step of the way. Together, generations gathered in classrooms, chapels, and hallways, celebrating the faith, wisdom, and love that binds our community. GrandEagle Day is more than an event; it is a living picture of LCA’s mission in action, as we honor those who have sown seeds of faith and sacrifice so that our students might flourish in life and in Christ.

Founders’ Day
In a remarkable moment of reflection and unity, Legacy Christian Academy welcomed all four of its Heads of School—three former and the current—back to campus as part of last year’s Founders Day celebration. Traveling from across the country, these visionary leaders gathered together for a rare reunion, offering an inspiring reminder of Legacy’s enduring mission and the people who helped shape it.
During their visit, the Heads of School toured the campus, connecting with faculty and staff while sharing stories and memories from their time at LCA. Their presence served as a living bridge between the Academy’s founding years and its bright future.
This meaningful gathering took place ahead of A Night to Remember—Legacy Christian Academy’s 25th Anniversary celebration—making Founders Day 2025 an especially significant milestone in the school’s history.

A NIGHT TO Remember
Legacy Christian Academy marked its 25th anniversary with A Night to Remember , a milestone evening celebrating God’s faithfulness from 1999 to today.
Guests were welcomed with a museum-style exhibit in the lobby, filled with photos, artifacts, and stories that told the remarkable history of Legacy. A highlight of the night was the moving performance by the Alumni Choir, whose voices bridged generations and testified to the lasting impact of a Legacy education. The evening culminated in
an unforgettable concert by Grammy award–winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman, filling the room with worship and joy. More than a celebration, the night was a testimony to God’s provision, the sacrifice of so many families, and the bright future that lies ahead for generations of Eagles still to come.

INTERNATIONAL EAGLE NIGHT
In Revelation 7:9, John describes a breathtaking vision of heaven: “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” What’s remarkable is that this diversity was not generalized or blurred; it was both seen and heard. The unique beauty of every culture, every voice, and every people group was fully visible and joyfully united in worship. This passage reminds us that diversity is not an earthly inconvenience but a heavenly design.
At our second annual International Eagle Night, our community caught a glimpse of that Kingdom reality. With representation from 24 countries, families and students joined together to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our school. It was a night filled with vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors, a living picture of God’s creativity on display.
From traditional dances and interactive games to cultural displays and an incredible variety of food, the evening offered something for everyone. As one father said, “I’ve never been in one room with so many dishes from around the world ready to try.” That sense of wonder and connection echoed throughout the night.
Students from every division, from our littlest Eagles in the ELC to our Upper School leaders, participated with enthusiasm, hosting booths, collecting passport stamps, learning about countries they’ve never visited, and engaging with cultures beyond their own.
It was more than a celebration; it was an embodiment of belonging, of learning through proximity, and of honoring the beauty that diversity brings. In a world that can feel increasingly divided, nights like this remind us that unity is possible, and that it is something worth building, celebrating, and passing on.
1. The Kenya booth showcases the beauty and craftsmanship of African culture.
2. Students and families celebrate the evening dressed in traditional attire representing their heritage.
3. Colorful performances and cultural displays fill the night with energy and joy.

The TJ Tomeny Legacy Classic
LCA’s annual TJ Tomeny Golf Classic tournament brought families and friends together for a beautiful day on the course filled with great shots, laughter, and community spirit. More than just a tournament, this event directly supports Legacy’s Annual Fund, which provides mission-enhancing resources for students and teachers across every division. The day was a meaningful reminder that when our community comes together, we strengthen the foundation of excellence and faith that defines a Legacy Christian education.

MORE THAN THE GAME: LCA NAMED FIRST TEXAS SCHOOL WITH NIAAA DISTINCTION
Legacy Christian Academy has always believed that athletics are about more than the scoreboard. They’re about teamwork, leadership, character, and honoring Christ in all we do. This year, that commitment was recognized in a historic way: Legacy Christian Academy became the first school in Texas to earn the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Quality Program Assessment (QPA) distinction.
What Is the QPA?
The NIAAA Quality Program Assessment is the gold standard for athletic programs across the nation. Schools that earn this recognition go through an extensive process - lasting more than a year - that examines every area of athletics, from leadership and vision to student-athlete experience and community involvement. Only schools that meet the highest standards of excellence receive this honor.
IN SHORT: the QPA says to the world that Legacy’s athletic program is strong, intentional, and built to last.
A First for Texas
While schools from across the country have earned this distinction, Legacy is proud to be the first school in the state of Texas to do so. Under the leadership of Athletic Director Lynn Dupree, CMAA, LCA joined a very select group of schools nationwide to achieve this milestone.
“This recognition is really about our students, families, and coaches,” Dupree shared. “It shows that what we’re building together at Legacy - an athletic program centered on faith, character, and excellence - is something special.”
More Than the Game
Legacy’s mission has always been to develop strong leaders with biblical convictions, and athletics play a key role in that vision. Whether on the football field, volleyball court, cross-country
trails, or baseball diamond, our studentathletes are learning lessons that extend far beyond the game: perseverance, teamwork, humility, and leadership.
The QPA recognition affirms what our community already knows - athletics at Legacy aren’t just about playing hard, but about preparing young men and women for life.
A Moment for Our Community
This milestone belongs to all of usstudents who give their best every day, coaches who pour into their teams, parents who cheer from the sidelines, and alumni who continue to carry Legacy’s values into the world. It’s a proud reminder that our efforts together are making a lasting impact.
Looking Ahead
While this recognition is an exciting achievement, it is also just the beginning. Legacy Christian Academy will continue to pursue excellence in every area of student life - academics, fine arts, service, and athletics - all to the glory of God.
Being the first school in Texas to earn the NIAAA Quality Program Assessment distinction is more than a title. It’s a reflection of who we are as a community and what we believe: at Legacy, we play with purpose, compete with integrity, and always strive to honor Christ.
Making a Splash:
The Little Mermaid Brings Legacy’s Stage to Life
Every Role. Every Note. Every Gifting—Given Back to God.
Last spring, the Legacy Christian Academy Stockton Performing Arts Center was transformed into a world beneath the waves as students from Lower, Middle, and Upper School came together to present The Little Mermaid From the opening scene to the final curtain call, the performance was a joyful celebration of creativity, talent, and the beauty of using our gifts to glorify God.
At the heart of the story is Ariel, a curious and big-hearted mermaid with a longing to explore the world beyond the sea. Reese Bardwell brought Ariel to life with warmth, wonder, and a voice that left the audience in awe, perfectly capturing the joy, courage, and longing that make Ariel so beloved. As Ariel searched for her voice, both literally and figuratively, she reminded us that the dreams God places in our hearts often lead us closer to who He’s calling us to be.
LCA PERFORMING ARTS
Johnny O’Quinn portrayed Prince Eric with strength, a quiet conviction, and voice well beyond his years, while Ian McBroom brought a noble presence to the role of King Triton. Camila Sirgo captured the crowd with her powerful performance as Ursula, filling the stage with dramatic flair and commanding presence.
As Sebastian, Micah Domen delivered humor and heart, guiding Ariel with wise counsel and spirited song. Her exceptional portrayal of this role had the audience captivated. Davis Murphy delighted audiences as Flounder, bringing playfulness,
and friendship to life, and Palmer Ballent’s Scuttle added laughs and lighthearted charm.
Each role, from the smallest sea creature to the leading cast members, reflected the unique way God equips His children with creativity and purpose. Ensemble scenes were filled with energy as students from across divisions worked together with delight, lifting each other up and sharing the spotlight.
Beyond the performances, what made The Little Mermaid truly special was the spirit behind the scenes. Every detail
was professionally executed from the costumes to the choreography, tech, and set design. The result was a vibrant underwater world complete with shimmering coral, glowing jellyfish, and even floating bubbles from the ceiling that captured the imagination of every guest while fully immersing them into the production.
But more than the costumes or the choreography, this musical told a deeper story. Ariel’s journey to find her place in a world beyond her own mirrored the longing we all feel to live with purpose.
Through every note sung and every scene played out, our students reflected the truth that the arts are not just about performance. They are about worship. They are a way to tell the stories God is writing in our hearts. They are an invitation to see beauty, to celebrate truth, and to lift up the name of the One who gave us these gifts in the first place.
As the final bows were taken and the applause filled the room, it was clear this was more than a musical. It was a testimony. A reminder that when we come together as a community, offer our gifts with open hands, and point all glory to Him, something truly beautiful happens.

FROM LEGACY TO LEADERSHIP: Dr. Boaz Goss’s Journey in Faith and Neuroscience
By Madi Koop
Even among LCA graduates, few can claim an academic record as distinguished as that of Dr. Boaz (“Bo”) Goss. During his years at Legacy Christian Academy, Dr. Goss excelled both academically and athletically, earning recognition that ranged from state championships in powerlifting and awards in football to honor roll distinctions and subject-specific accolades.
After graduating from LCA in 2009, he pursued undergraduate studies in philosophy at TCU and Azusa Pacific University before completing and defending his PhD in neuroscience at St. Louis University in 2023. Yet his most notable accomplishment lies not simply in the degrees he earned, but in the groundbreaking work he has undertaken in neuroscience and its relationship to faith. Built on the firm foundation he received at Legacy, Dr. Goss’s growing influence reflects the very heart of LCA’s mission: to cultivate strong leaders with biblical convictions, prepared to impact the world for Christ.
Dr. Goss was awarded his joint PhD in Healthcare Ethics and Theology from St. Louis University in May 2023. His dissertation, Free Will and Neuroscience: A Thomistic Corrective to Neurodeterminism, has been recognized as the most thorough and comprehensive analysis of the topic to date. In it, Dr. Goss engages
For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”

deeply with the technical intricacies of the famous Libet experiment and demonstrates that, contrary to the claims of neurodeterminists such as Adrian Raine, neuroscience does not disprove the existence of free will. Instead, he shows that neurodeterminism is both scientifically flawed and philosophically unsound. Dr. Goss’s drive to wrestle with life’s biggest questions did not begin with his doctoral research; it took root in the classrooms of Mr. Glenn and Mr. Littleton at Legacy Christian Academy and in reading R. C. Sproul’s The Consequences of Ideas. “I understood that the questions we were exploring are the most important questions anyone could possibly ask,” Dr. Goss reflects.
Determined to pursue truth, even when it meant challenging his peers, Dr. Goss pressed deeper into his research. “I kept hearing everywhere that neuroscience proved we don’t have free will,” he recalls. “But nobody knew how neuroscience did this.” He recognized
that if free will were truly proven to be an illusion, the consequences for our understanding of God, morality, and reality would be profound. “If nobody has free will, then humans are just like any other chunk of matter,” he explains. Ultimately, Dr. Goss concluded that without free will, the very basis of human rights collapses. Drawing on the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas, his work offers a thoughtful corrective to the errors of neurodeterminism and its dystopian implications.
“Getting introduced to biblical values at LCA empowered me to say no to the right things,” Dr. Goss reflects. “It is very easy to assume the popular way is the correct way.” Guided by biblical truths in his Apologetics and Worldviews classes, Dr. Goss learned to ask hard questions, wrestle with challenging topics, and ultimately pursue truth to its fullest end, knowing that Christ Himself declares that the truth sets us free (John 8:32). At
Legacy, he found an environment that encouraged his growth as a leader, strengthened his confidence, and deepened his relationship with Christ.
Dr. Goss’s advice to LCA students reflects the very heart of his work.
“You’re going to hear a lot of cultural beliefs that are wrong,” he cautions. “Don’t passively believe something just because it’s popular and people are passionate about it.” To high school students eager to step into their next chapter, he emphasizes that a truly good life is one that is holy, happy, and sustainable. His story continues to remind us that the pursuit of biblical truth, even in the face of opposition, is not only worthwhile but perhaps the most important calling we have in this life. After completing his PhD at St. Louis University in 2023, Dr. Goss joined the faculty at Cassata Catholic High School, where he was recently honored as one of the top teachers in Fort Worth.

CAPTURING THE MOMENT:
How LCA’s PSP Launched Ryan Schroeder’s Sports Media Career
By Madi Koop
A graduate of Legacy Christian Academy’s Professional Schools Program (PSP), Ryan Schroeder has already achieved more than many dream of in a lifetime.
As a sports media major at Oklahoma State University (Class of ’24), he discovered that his aspiration to become a broadcaster was not only attainable at both the university and professional level, but also strengthened by the solid foundation and skillset he first developed through the PSP at LCA.
Since graduating from Legacy, Ryan has returned to speak with current students about the Professional Schools Program, reminding them that early success rarely comes without challenges. He knows this firsthand, as he had never picked up a camera until his senior year. “I wanted to be in broadcasting, but I still needed to learn how to film, edit, and publish,” he recalls. Encouraged by Mr. Mosley, now Head of School, Ryan took on his first assignment: filming a back-to-school video for LCA. Though initially hesitant, he admits Mr. Mosley was right in urging him to master every aspect of the sports media process. That same year, Ryan launched a podcast, TXPS Media, which continues to thrive today by offering awards, retreats, and recognition to private school athletes across Texas who might otherwise be overlooked compared to their public school peers.
At Oklahoma State University, Ryan continued to build his professional portfolio through internships as a content coordinator for both the women’s tennis team and the historic wrestling team. With each program achieving outstanding records during his time, he traveled extensively, capturing critical moments for social media as OSU faced opponents such as Ohio State and Pepperdine. “In the last seven or eight years, there has been a spike in shooting social media content on camera,” Ryan explains. “These clips are then edited and posted in real time so that followers can see live game updates.” Building on that experience, Ryan accepted an internship with USA Baseball in North Carolina during a semester
break, virtually telling the stories of remarkable teams and preparing for his next opportunity at the Major League Baseball level. While still completing his senior year at OSU, he spent countless hours flying between Arlington, Texas and Oklahoma, producing content for the Rangers and attending both Spring Training and All-Star Weekend, an honor awarded to only a select few interns nationwide.
After graduating from OSU last year, Ryan once again faced discouragement despite his already impressive resume. “Lots of people want to do this for a living,” he admits, “and finding a job was hard at first.” For a year he relentlessly submitted applications until he finally received a breakthrough offer: a position with the reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Moving back to Oklahoma, Ryan worked all 82 regular season games and traveled to playoff rounds in Denver, Memphis, and Minnesota. His role expanded beyond filming and editing to include publishing content across the Thunder’s social media platforms. It proved to be a legendary season for both Ryan and the team, as the Thunder secured the fifth-best regular season record and a league MVP award, while Ryan built a standout portfolio in professional sports media. “This is what I dreamed about,” Ryan reflects.
Ryan credits much of his success to the foundation he received through the Professional Schools Program at Legacy Christian Academy. It was there that he was given the freedom to explore his interests, develop meaningful skills, and nurture the dream that has since grown into a thriving career in sports media. His story is a reminder to current students that God often plants the seeds of calling early, and with faith, perseverance, and the right preparation, those seeds can grow into opportunities far beyond what they imagined.

SO THEN, BROTHERS, STAND FIRM AND HOLD TO THE TRADITIONS THAT YOU WERE TAUGHT BY US, EITHER BY OUR SPOKEN WORD OR BY OUR LETTER.
- 2 Thessalonians 2:15
DEAR LEGACY COMMUNITY,
I pray that as you turned these pages, you were encouraged by all that God has accomplished in and through Legacy Christian Academy this past year. Each story, each milestone, each testimony is a reminder of His faithfulness and the power of a community united in Christ.
As we close the chapter on our 25th anniversary year and step into the 2025–2026 school year, I am filled with gratitude and anticipation. The prophet Isaiah reminds us, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19 ESV). At Legacy, we believe every school year is a fresh opportunity to witness God’s work in our classrooms, on our stages and fields, and most importantly, in the hearts and lives of our students.
Whether your family has been with us for many years or is just beginning the journey, know that we count it a great privilege to partner with you in nurturing strong leaders with biblical convictions. Legacy is more than a school. It is a launching ground where students grow in wisdom, deepen their faith, and discover God’s unique calling on their lives.
As we look ahead, may we do so with great expectation, trusting that the same God who has carried us faithfully for the past 25 years will continue to lead us into the future. Thank you for being a vital part of this story. Together, we will continue preparing tomorrow’s leaders in life and faith.
