Educational Safeguarding: Rising Pressure and Growing Responsibility!

Safeguarding starts with Children and families — but the pressure on those protecting them is growing:

• Risks are rising.

• Time is shrinking.

• Expectations are escalating.

• Visibility is limited.

• Emotional toll is real.

And yet, despite all this, there’s little recognition for the relentless work safeguarding leaders do every day.

Also….Ofsted now expects more than compliance it demands culture, strategy, and impact. But the tools to meet that challenges difficult to find.

If those pressures feel familiar, you're not alone — and you’re now not without options.

We have been working with Safeguarding Experts in a number of different domains, DSLs, Safeguarding Leads and Headteacher to create:

The Strategic Safeguarding Strategic Quality Mark Framework to support you develop safeguarding beyond what is expected and inspected and also celebrate your relentless safeguarding provision.

The Strategic Safeguarding Quality Mark Framework was built with safeguarding leaders, for safeguarding leaders. It’s designed to:

• Put children, families, and safeguarding culture at the centre

• Recognise what you already do well

• Support what you’re trying to do better

• Provide clarity, consistency, and confidence across schools and trusts

• Align with Ofsted’s expectations — but go beyond them

This isn’t just another checklist or award. It’s a strategic tool for real-world safeguarding leadership and can result in a celebration and validation of your safeguarding provision.

The Framework has 3 guiding Principles across 7 Domains:

The Guiding Principles are:

1. Positive Relationships

2. Everyone Matters

3. Proactive Provision

The Framework can be applied and adapted for individual schools and Mulit-Academy Trusts and Local Authorities. More information https://www.lefevre-solutions.co.uk/ strategic-safeguarding-quality-mark/
