Lesson Summary As part of the Ministry of Education’s (MOE’s) STELLAR (Strategies for English Language Learning and Reading) programme’s Modified Learning Experiential Approach (MLEA), students go through a sharedexperience related to the Big Book (in this lesson: The Three Billy Goats Gruff) so that they can create a ClassWriting with the teacher using targeted language structures and vocabulary. Students then proceed to use their experience from the Class-Writing and attempt Group-Writing which will finally aid them during Individual Writing, a scaffolding process designed to improve students’ writing. Before this lesson, students have already completed their Class-Writing where the teacher has guided the students on how to twist the ending in The Three Billy Goats Gruff and this lesson is structured for the students to complete their Group Writing with ICT integrated to make the process more meaningful and memorable. Students will use iPads to record an animation of their twisted fairytales (illustrated with their drawings and voiced themselves) and upload them onto an already-established Class Page on social learning network, Edmodo. Students engage in an online discussion on Edmodo to reflect on their learning experience and engage in peer feedback. Students could also get feedback from their own and their peers’ parents as their parents will be encouraged to feedback on the students’ work on Edmodo as well. Class-Writing
