Officials also have $234 million available to widen Route 7 6.5 miles between Tysons and Reston, and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) soon will begin soliciting proposals for design-build project, which should be finished by 2025, Foust said. Construction also is proceeding well for the Jones Branch Connector, a roadway with pedestrian/bicycle paths that will cross over the Beltway between Route 123 in McLean and Jones Branch Road in Tysons.
