The essentials
There is some key information that you need to know about moving into your accommodation on our Horsforth campus.
Contracts
If you have any questions about your accommodation or the agreement you’ve signed, contact the Accommodation team at accommodation@leedstrinity.ac.uk or call +44 (0)113 283 7108
Check your student emails as the Accommodation team will contact you about your accommodation throughout your residency.
They will also contact you via email to make arrangements at the end of your residence. You may be asked to provide feedback on your time in halls so that we can improve the experience for future residents.
Accommodation regulations
The accommodation regulations are contained within the Accommodation Agreement you have with Leeds Trinity University, which is available in the ‘Campus Life’ tile on myLTU.
Upon arrival, complete your inventory form and check everything in your room is in working order. You must do this within seven days of moving into your accommodation (no later than Monday 29 September 2025) to ensure an agreed record of the condition of your room. In return, you will be given a a pre-loaded key fob with free credit for use in the campus laundrette.
Repayment of the accommodation bond
We will return the accommodation bond to you within 28 days of moving out of halls and returning your keys, subject to a satisfactory room check, completing a bond return form and all payments being up-to-date.
If you have breached parts of your agreement, payments will be deducted for any damages or additional cleaning.
Noise and disruption
As you are sharing accommodation with other students, you should aim to reduce noise both day and night to avoid disturbing others. It is your responsibility to ensure your activities do not impact others.
We understand that some noise is unavoidable. Here are some tips to reduce noise:
• Move your devices (TV, monitor and speakers) away from your neighbour’s walls and raise them off the floor if you have flats beneath you.
• If you can hear your music outside your room, so can everyone else! Use headphones if possible.
• Try to keep the volume and bass of your devices on low.
• Be mindful of flatmates when returning home late at night. Close doors quietly, remove shoes and don’t shout.
Smoking
Smoking and vaping are prohibited in most areas across Horsforth Campus and in halls of residence. Covering or interfering with smoke, fire and heat detectors could cause danger to others on campus and is a serious offence which could result in fines, eviction from halls or prosecution.
There are some designated smoking areas:
• At the side of Trinity Building near Kirkstall Hall
• On the grassed area opposite the Sports Centre entrance
• Opposite the entrance to All Saints’ Court
• On the grassed area next to Ripon Hall
• Outside Trinity Close
• In the smoking shelter outside the Andrew Kean Learning Centre
Cleaning
All halls of residence have a house keeping service provided by the Domestic Services staff. The communal areas are cleaned Monday to Friday during term time and kitchen facilities are cleaned regularly.
It is your responsibility to keep your room (and ensuite bathroom) clean, tidy and free from hazards.
Inspections
The Accommodation team will complete inspections of your rooms and kitchens in November and April of the academic year. This is to ensure that any issues with the rooms can be addressed to ensure a positive living experience.
If you have any questions, contact the Accommodation team at accommodation@leedstrinity.ac.uk or call on +44 (0)113 283 7108.
Internet
Free Wi-Fi is provided by Wifinity. You can connect all your devices and there is provision for both wired and wireless connections. You will find a leaflet in your Welcome Pack with details on how to connect to the Wi-Fi.
If you have any issues, contact Wifinity at support@wifinity.co.uk or call on +44 (0)20 809 01290.
When using your device(s) on campus outside of your halls of residence, connect to the Eduroam Wi-Fi using your LTU student emaill address and password.
Contents Insurance
Through our partner Cover4Students, all residents are covered for contents up to £10,000. This will cover your contents inside your room for fire, flood and theft of your possessions, including your gadgets.
This insurance is provided at no additional cost and is included as part of your hall fees.
Laundry Facilities
Laundry facilities are located at the side of Fountains Court and are operated by Washpoint Laundry. Students in Fountains Court, All Saints Court and Kirkstall Hall will be given a pre-loaded key fob with credit for the laundrette upon completing and returning your inventory form. Don’t lose your fob as you might be charged for a replacement.
The washing machines are self-dosing, so you do not need to provide any washing powder, tablets or pods.
Post
The Post Room is located in Fountains Court common room and is managed by the Post and Accommodation team. The Post Room is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Receiving post
When ordering post, please use the following address:

If you receive confirmation from the courier but do not receive a QR code, contact post@leedstrinity.ac.uk or enquire at the Post Room.
Letters will be put into your flat mailbox, which are located at the far end of the Fountains Court common room. The small key on your keyring is to open your mailbox. Ensure your mailbox is locked after you have checked for post.
Money or vouchers should not be sent to you via the post. Registered mail is the only safe way to send valuables.

The Post Room does not accept any supermarket deliveries. You need to provide the supermarket your mobile number to contact you directly and meet the delivery van in the car park.
At the end of the academic year, update your address with any person or company who delivered mail to you. Any mail sent to you after your contract end-date will be returned to sender.
Halls security
Your safety is our priority. We provide 24/7 security across our Horsforth campus. The security staff undertake campus patrols and wear body cameras as an additional safety measure. CCTV cameras are also active across campus and communal areas of halls.
Accommodation on the ground floor of halls is also fitted with sash window locks for added security. Use these properly, especially by closing your window when you leave your room.
To contact the Security team, call +44 (0)113 283 7100 or out-of-hours on +44 (0)7860 383434
Accessing halls and rooms
You need to use your student ID card to enter halls and your room key to access your room. Your student ID card must be worn at all times whilst on campus and is not to be used by anyone but you.
Help us keep our halls safe for you and your flatmates by not lending your keys and not granting access to any non-residents. Let your Resident Mentor know about any guests you may bring into your accommodation.

What’s on in Leeds
From the Brontë sisters to the birthplace of the first football club, Yorkshire is steeped in history. We’re also known for our breathtaking countryside and Horsforth isn’t short of relaxing green spaces. One of our favourite spots is Hunger Hills. Located at the back of the university, it’s the perfect place to go for a short walk, especially in autumn. Horsforth Hall Park is only a short walk from campus too, located near the town’s main high street.
You can also check out Leeds city centre, home to our new City Campus. The city centre is the ideal place to discover new restaurants, great shops (from beloved charity and vintage shops to independent boutiques and comic bookshops), museums, music venues and more.
Nights out in the city
The city centre isn’t the only place to enjoy a great night out. With Headingley only a short bus, train or taxi ride away from Leeds Trinity University, it’s the perfect place to make memories with friends.
Otley Road is lined with bars and cafés to find a bite to eat or grab a drink, whatever your preference.
Stay local
There’s never a dull moment in Leeds, regardless of your lifestyle. City life isn’t to everyone’s taste, but there’s plenty of things to do. From independent shops and retail parks to cinemas, restaurants and buzzing cafés, Horsforth, Headingley and Kirkstall offer everything you need without venturing into the city centre.
Travelling in Leeds
Car parking
Parking restrictions apply on campus at all halls. There is a pay and display system across campus for residents who choose to park. The car park is regularly checked so you will need to adhere to parking regulations to avoid receiving a fine. Spaces cannot be reserved in the car parks and it can get very busy. It is advised that you do not bring your car to campus.
Car parking spaces are only available for residents of Trinity Close for £200 per annum on a first-come, first-served basis. For further information, email travel@leedstrinity.ac.uk.
The car parking policy is strictly enforced by the issuing of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).
Resident students are not authorised to purchase a Yarnbury parking permit. Leeds City Council has a restricted parking scheme on the roads surrounding the Horsforth campus, namely:
• Brownberrie Lane
• Westbrook Lane
• Southway
• Lee Lane West
If you park off-campus, please park considerately and be aware of any parking restrictions in place throughout the local area.
Electric vehicles
Electric cars or vans can only be charged on campus from designated charge points, which can be found in the South Car park behind Fountains Court.
For the safety of all, electric vehicles of any kind (including, but not limited to, e-bicycles and scooters) are not allowed in halls.

Top tips for life in halls
For many students, staying in halls is the first time living away from home. We know this can feel a little daunting, so we asked our Leeds Trinity Students’ Union President, Beth Owen-O’Malley, for her top tips for life in halls.

Meet Beth, your Leeds Trinity Students’ Union President
• Don’t be afraid to make the first move. It may feel daunting, but remember that everyone is just as nervous as you. On my first day on campus, my flatmates went up and down Whitby Halls knocking on everyone’s doors and we all ended up going out together. I’m so grateful they did, as it turned a group of strangers into friends from day one. That one little step can make all the difference.
• Come to Trini-Tea Central, the LTSU’s welcoming café near the Dining Room. Enjoy a slice of cake and a hot drink and play a board game with your new flatmates. Plus, follow @leedstrinitysu for up-to-date information of LTSU events taking place throughout the year!
• Comfort is key. Bring personal touches with you, such as fairy lights, plants, teddies or photographs of loved ones, and invest in some bedding that makes you smile. A cosy space can make all the difference! Just make sure you stick to your accommodation rules.
• Sometimes the simple things matter most, whether you have a spontaneous dance party in the laundry room or a night baking or playing games with your new flatmates.
Resident Mentors
Every hall of residence has a live-in Resident Mentor, an experienced student who will ensure you settle into your new home with ease. Resident Mentors work closely with our Student Support team and have been trained to advise and support you on a variety of issues, such as frustrations with your flatmates.
If you need to get in touch with your Resident Mentor, contact details will be provided in your Resident Mentor Welcome Meeting.
