The Leeds Youth Advisory Board consists of highly motivated high school leaders from the greater Winchester area. It meets biweekly to work on arts-based projects, strengthen leadership skills through seminars, and enhance the greater community through enrichment opportunities.

Creative Storytelling
Ages 6-10 | Teacher: Jacob Ernst
This class will teach students the basics of theatre and storytelling The students will be working towards creating their own devised piece of theatre based on a classic children’s book. Saturdays at 9:00 AM.
Advanced Acting
Ages 14-18 | Teacher: Forrest Loeffler
Overall this class aims to give young actors the tools they need to do this work on their own This class aims to expand young actor’s toolboxes. It builds upon the foundations of acting, expanding on the ideas of ensemble, improv, vocal production, text work, physicality and more. Students will learn the process of crafting a character, interpreting a script, building connections with scene partners Saturdays at 10:00 AM.
Rock University
Ages 11-18 | Teacher: Steve Crosby
ROCK UNIVERSITY is dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. We will develop music creativity and proficiency within a culture of belonging, collaboration and community Classic Rock music, using multiple teachers, will be the foundation of instruction Group lessons and private instruction will be the basis of learning along with the development of a knowledge of reading music and understanding music theory Mondays or Tuesdays at 5:00 or 7:00.
Intermediate Scene Study

Combining imaginative play with learning the fundamentals of acting Students will have a hands-on introduction to performer techniques and concepts of acting through movement, imagination, and characterization by doing scene work Wednesdays at 6:30 PM

In this course we will focus on Longform Improv We will be working on sharpening individual aspects of scene work and learning the core concepts of improvised theatre Saturdays at 11:00 AM.
Musical Theatre Dance
Ages 9-18 | Teacher: Jasmine Singer
Join us for our beginner/intermediate level musical theater dance class series! Through our 12 week program, students will learn the foundations of musical theater dance technique that will prepare them for dance auditions ranging from the Broadway stage, to commercials and musical movies on the big screen. Students will also gain a basic knowledge of the history of dance in musicals and how the dance styles evolved through each era of theater. Beginner - Saturdays at 11:30 AM. Beginner Tap: Dive into the basics and history of Tap Dance. In this class you will learn the basic steps of Tap and the history behind it! Whether it be classical, rhythm, or musical theater tap. Allie is an incoming law student at the University of Kentucky, and is thrilled to be in her first production with Leeds this summer! Some of her favorite previous roles include Marmee in Little Women (Scott County High School), Glinda in The Wizard of Oz (Youth Theatre of the Bluegrass), and Miss Scarlett in Clue (Scott County High School). Allie has absolutely loved being a part of this show, and would like to thank her friends and family for their endless love and support!
Amari Gilkey is a 20 year old Social Work major at the illustrious Kentucky State University. This is Amari’s third show at Leeds. Some of her previous roles include Belle (Beauty and The Beast), The Baker’s Wife, and the Witch (Into the Woods). She is beyond excited to play Elle Woods! OMIGOD!
Ashton is a native of Lexington, KY who is thrilled to be working with Leeds Center for the Arts for the first time. She is excited to be returning to the stage in one of her favorite shows. Some previous theatre credits include Heathers the Musical (Red Hen Theatre Company) and Broadway Under the Stars (Distilled Theatre Company), as well as some tv/film credits including The Kitty Kelley Files where she played a Young Julia Roberts. When not performing, Ashton is an elementary school teacher in Lexington.
Ava
Ava VanMeter is a rising sophomore at Lexington Christian Academy and loves all things musical theatre. Favorite past roles include Scuttle in The Little Mermaid, Lina Lamont in Singin’ in the Rain, Jr., Mal in Descendants, Young Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Caitlin in Mean Girls, Clarice in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Mayzie LaBird in Seussical Jr., Jojo in Newsies Jr , Pinocchio in Shrek Jr, Matilda in Matilda the Musical, Flounder in The Little Mermaid Jr., Young Elsa in Frozen Jr., and Jojo in Seussical Jr. Ava also participates in ACTivate Artists with Purpose. Ava is thrilled for this opportunity and would like to thank her family and everyone at Leeds for all their encouragement and support.
Bryan Haydon has performed across central Kentucky and is excited to finally add Winchester to the list! Previous roles across KY include Curly in Oklahoma! at West T. Hill, Richard Loeb in Thrill Me at the University of Kentucky, J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at Ragged Edge Community Theatre, Sam Berryman in Flatspin at Studio Players, and Snoopy in Snoopy!!! the Musical at Bluegrass Theatre Guild. Bryan is also proud to serve at UK as the academic advisor for all Theatre, Dance, and Arts Administration students, and most of all he’s excited to finally be onstage again with his wife after all these years.
This is Coranna’s first production with Leeds. She is a graduate of Morehead State and currently teaches 4th grade at Crossroads Elementary in Bath County. She has been the co-director of Bath County Drama Club for their productions of Alice & the Mad Tea Party, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Willy Wonka Jr., and Legally Blonde Jr Some of her favorite shows that she has performed in are Oliver (Ensemble), Lucky Stiff (Ensemble), The Wedding Singer (Ensemble), Addams Family (Ancestor), 9 to 5 (Ensemble), Sister Act (Sister Mary Patrick), Mamma Mia (Ensemble).
Courtney Smith is thrilled to take on the role of “Pilar” in Leeds’ production of Legally Blonde! She’s a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky, at which she earned a BA in theatre. Some of her past credits include Ilona (She Loves Me), Euterpe (Xanadu), and Marty (Grease). She is incredibly grateful for this opportunity and would like to give a massive thank you to all her friends and family for supporting her!
Ellie is excited to return to the stage after more than a decade away. Currently a faculty member in the University of Kentucky College of Education, she has dedicated the past several years to pursuing advanced degrees. She is grateful to Leeds for facilitating her theatrical comeback in Legally Blonde Her love for musical theater began in high school, where she portrayed Belle in Beauty and the Beast and performed in the ensemble for Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma!, and The Music Man. As an undergraduate at UK, she performed in student productions, including a play festival and musical revue. She also served as Music Director for the musical revue and Thrill Me. Ellie thanks her family and colleagues for their support, and the Leeds family for welcoming her!
Emma is super excited to be in her first production with Leeds! Some of her favorite credits include Margo in Bright Star and Memphis with The Lexington Theatre Company She is currently a student at Northern Kentucky University studying to receive a BA in Political Science and a BFA in Musical Theatre. She would like to thank God and her amazing friends and family!

Grace Beauchamp is delighted to be making her debut at Leeds. She was homeschooled and performed in several shows through Bluegrass United Performing Arts Company. Recent credits include playing Race in Newsies and Featured Ensemble in Oklahoma!. She is going to be attending the University of Kentucky as an incoming freshman this fall and will be majoring in Mathematics. Grace grew up dancing at Bluegrass Youth Ballet and is excited to continue her love of dancing and performing through theater.
Grace is completely ecstatic to be in Legally Blonde this summer! Grace goes to George Rogers Clark High School and is a rising senior. This is Grace’s fourth show with Leeds, and her most recent roles include Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes and Lina Lamont in Singin’ in the Rain
Jackson Becker is thrilled to be returning to the Leeds stage in Legally Blonde! You may have recently seen him as Barfeè in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, and Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher at Leeds. Other credits include Trent in The Prom with Voices Amplified, Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown with Studio Players, and Corny Collins in Hairspray with Jessamine County Arts. He would like to thank Elena Guerra for everything she does, and his family for always supporting him and his dreams!
Jacob Ernst is a local performer and teaching artist from Lexington, KY. Jacob is a proud GSA alum and is just coming off another summer working on staff. Legally Blonde has always been a favorite of his and he couldn’t be more excited to be playing Warner in this production. Other recent credits include Leaf Coneybear (Spelling Bee), Laurie (Little Women), Kevin (The Prom) and more. He hopes you enjoy the show!
John is excited to be in his fourth show onstage at Leeds. Being able to work creatively with other performers is something that really motivates him. While being a performer is fulfilling in one way, he teaches Arts and Humanities and is the musical director to high school students at GRC, Winchester’s high school. It is an honor, a pleasure, and a blessing to get to perform alongside current students and alums in Legally Blonde
Josh is very excited to be in his second show at Leeds Center, and his fourth musical ever! After being in Singin’ In the Rain Jr. at Leeds, this show is a very different next step. He can’t wait to be in such a great show with such a talented cast!

Katherine is so excited to be in her third summer show at Leeds. She has been in Leeds’ previous productions of Matilda (Ensemble, Dance Captain) and The Addams Family (Saloon Girl Ancestor, Dance Captain). Katherine is an upcoming senior at the University of Kentucky, majoring in Media Arts and Studies with minors in Dance and Linguistics. She is currently an instructor at Dancer’s Pointe, where she teaches styles including musical theatre, jazz, contemporary, and tap. She is so incredibly proud of this cast and hopes that you enjoy the show!
Laney is a senior at Montgomery County High School and this is her first production at the Leeds Theater. She is thrilled to be a part of such a supportive and inspiring community and has had an unforgettable time being in this production. She hopes to attend college next fall to major in biomedical sciences and minor in musical theater. She would like to thank her family for their outpouring love and support and the Leeds cast and directors for giving her this opportunity.
Lauren McCraith could not be more excited to be performing Legally Blonde! You may have seen her other shows such as Leeds’ Singin’ In the Rain as Broadway Dancer #2, Wednesday in The Addams Family at RDC, a Narrator in Beauty and the Beast at RDC, and Tommy Boy in the Leeds production of Newsies Jr. Lauren can not wait for you to watch this wonderful show.
OMG! Madeline is ecstatic to be back on the Leeds stage. Last summer you may have seen her as Mrs. Phelps in Matilda. Madeline graduated from the University of Kentucky after studying Theatre with a Musical Theatre emphasis. She has performed all around the bluegrass with favorite roles including Tracy in Hairspray, Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man, and Sister Amnesia in Nunsense She could not be more grateful for how supportive the cast has been throughout this process. "Snaps to my amazing family for everything. I love you guys."
Makayla Jones is very excited to be working with Leeds for the first time, and she has absolutely loved this production. The talent and the kindness within this cast is something truly amazing. Previously Makayla has been in shows at Montgomery County High School, such as Annie (as Miss Hannigan) and Into the Woods (as the Witch), but is very excited for this new chapter of college and community theater!
McKinley Harper is thrilled to be a part of her second production at Leeds Center! Previous credits include Morticia in The Addams Family Musical (RDC), Chastity in Anything Goes (GRC), Cruella de Vil in Descendants, (ACTivate), and Babette in Beauty and the Beast (RDC). McKinley enjoys being a part of the Fine Arts Cohort at GRC and is currently serving on the Leeds Youth Advisory Board. She wishes to thank her parents, teachers, Mr. Crosby, and the Millers for all of their support and guidance.
Mustafa is a Kentucky Native who attended Model Laboratory School, Sayre School, and The University of Kentucky. He also attended The Acting Studio Conservatory in Manhattan, NY and is certified in unarmed and broadsword stage combat through the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD). Along with acting, Mustafa loves to write scripts for the stage and screen. He is thrilled to be working with Leeds Center for the Arts for the first time! He was previously in And the Winner is… at Studio Players Lexington and NEW PLAYS NOW: a collection of short plays by Cypress Productions. Hobbies include video games and gardening.
Patrick Lee Lucas has acted, sung, and danced in Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio. Favorite roles include Harold Hill, Music Man; Cornelius Hackl, Hello Dolly!; The Old Man, A Christmas Story, The Musical; Edward Bloom, Big Fish, The Musical; Wilbur, Hairspray!; Adam, Children of Eden; and Frederick, A Little Night Music Off stage, he is a Professor in the School of Interiors at the University of Kentucky.
Sarah is thrilled to be returning to the stage at Leeds! Recent credits include Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Leeds Center for the Arts) and Ensemble/Prudy U/S in Hairspray (Jessamine County Arts). Tessa Miller is so excited to be back on stage here at Leeds! Tessa is a recent graduate from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Performing Arts. Some of her favorite credits include The Addams Family (Wednesday), The Three Musketeers (Constance), Mamma Mia! (Lisa), The Laramie Project, and SCAD’s 48 Hour Play Festival She was the Kentucky winner and national finalist for the National Society of Arts and Letters Drama Competition in 2019. Most recently, she has starred in a short film titled Sugar Baby, which will be hitting festivals this year! When she's not onstage or on set, Tessa loves teaching, reading, and spending time with her cat Teddy. She would like to thank the entire cast and team at Leeds for a wonderful experience, and she hopes you enjoy the show.
Trent is a rising senior at George Rogers Clark High School. Trent is an active member of his school's Art Cohort program as a member of the drama program, and a member of his school’s mixed ensemble, the Cardinal Singers. He is a graduate of the 2023 class of Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) as a Drama major. He is a former All-State Choir participant in the male vocal ensemble.
Vivien is a graduate of the SCAPA Lafayette Theater Program and a Drama Alumni of the Governor’s School for the Arts. She was recently seen onstage playing Mopsa in Head Over Heels (Voices Amplified) and has spent her summer on staff at the Governor’s School for the Arts. She is the current Company Manager for Voices Amplified’s ACTivate: Artists With Purpose throughout the year. She has recently Assistant Stage Managed The Prom (Voices Amplified), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Leeds Theatre), and Stage Managed Disney’s Descendants. When she’s not stage managing, she is dedicating time to
dance! She is a member of a local Hip-Hop organization, The Fam Foundation. She is very excited to be taking off her Stage Manager hat and returning to the stage this summer. She would like to thank her loved ones for supporting her in all her endeavors. Enjoy the show!
Xander Curry went to the University of Kentucky for Vocal Performance (20182022). He is the current Store Manager of PopShelf here in Winchester. Also, he is one of the most recent board members at Leeds, and is looking forward to being an active part of the Leeds Center for the Arts community.
Hazel is a one year old mini goldendoodle and is making her stage debut as Bruiser! Hazel loves to visit her grandparents’ house to play with her best friend Gus, going on walks at Legacy Grove, and getting pup cups from Starbucks. She is very thankful for the cast for taking such good care of her, and especially to Sarah for being her handler!
Gustopher (Gus) Miller is thrilled to be making his stage debut at Leeds Center for the Arts! He has no past credits, but as a regular volunteer at Leeds, he finally felt confident enough to audition for Legally Blonde. When not volunteering or acting, Gus enjoys wrestling with his cat Max, playing with best friend Hazel, and watching out for his new little brother, Jack. Gus would like to thank his Dad for giving him the best belly rubs. Gus is so grateful to the cast who has been so kind to him, and he would like to dedicate this show to Tucker.
Ellie Miller is a director, choreographer, educator, and performer. She serves as the Director of Marketing and Outreach here at Leeds, and often choreographs or directs many of the musicals. She loves working with children, and is the primary dance teaching artist for Leeds’ arts education program, SPARK. She loves this community and has seen so much amazing artistic growth- and it is truly evident in Legally Blonde! Enjoy the show!
Steve is a Winchester native who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Education from Georgetown College. He has been part of the musical theatre scene in Clark County for 40 years, having directed 20+ musicals and shows. Steve is currently the Family Pastor at Calvary Christian Church. He and his wife, Shanda, have three children, Caleb, Keegan and Kaeton. He is especially proud of his grandkids, Crowder, Crosby Kate, Cruz, and Creed!!
While Legally Blonde is Zach’s first time as stage manager, he is no stranger to theater. Performing in numerous shows, some of his favorite roles have included Cosmo Brown in Singin In the Rain Jr and Billy Crocker in Anything Goes. As well, Zach has served as Vice President of Leeds Youth Advisory Board this past year. Zach will be an incoming freshman at Butler University this fall where he plans on double majoring in theater and english. He would like to thank the Millers, his friends in the show, the Crosbys, and everyone who contributed in some way to this production of Legally Blonde!
