This is one seriously hot trend! Everyone from Rihanna and Katy Perry to Fergie and Adam Lambert have been all over this latest trend! Ever since Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita Spike boot’s have blown up the scene, it seems as though no one can escape this edgy, rocker look!

This is yet another example of recyling an old trend and modernising it with little tweaks and your own personal style. One look everyone should try is combining the Spring Floral’s trend and getting a floral dress and perhaps adding a spiked leather waist belt or jacket to give it that bit of an extra kick! There’s really no way you can get this trend wrong! So make sure to use that to your advantage! Anyone can pull of this look! The best part is, you don’t have to be a rocker chick to wear it You just have to have confidence! Check out these few ways that you can really edge up your current look with just a few simple tweaks! shop studs and spikes now

beauty Balayage Brightly coloured hair has been an emerging trend for a little while now and if the latest looks from the runway are anything to go by the trend is here to stay. This season however there were two major looks for coloured hair. It seems designers forgo the previous dip-dye look for either coloured balayage or coloured highlights in both neon and pastel colours. Balayage means that unlike dipdye the colour isn’t concentrated purely at the ends of the hair but distributed casually throughout the lengths. Either effect can be achieved by adding colour to existing hair or by adding coloured extensions to the hair so unlike traditional Balayage or other hair trends this look can work for all hair types and lengths.

Statement Lip

The statement lip was one beauty trend that was all over the runways this season; colours ranged from bight oranges to bold reds and hot pinks.

If you’re thinking of trying this look we recommend you invest in a good lip liner and keep the rest of your make up simple and natural. The bold lip is also a good chance to try out another big trend this summer – the slick ponytail. The ponytail will enhance your features without distracting from your lips, which should be taking centre stage.

Youthful Glow

The youthful glow also known as the no make-up beauty look was seen everywhere from Derek Lam to Diana Von Furstenberg. Dewy perfect youthful skin is the centre of this look so investizng in a good foundation and concealer is key. Try and keep the rest of your make-up to a minimum with just a hint of black or brown eyeliner, a sweep of mascara and a good moisturizing lip balm. For summer update the look with bronze highlights to give yourself that sun-kissed look without having to spend hours under damaging UV rays. This look works great with a glamorous blow out and soft curls.

Coloured Eyeliner This season Stella McCartney modernised this look when she sent her models down the runway with just a hint of aqua liner on the bottom lashes. Coloured eyeliner is a great way to add colour to your everyday make up look but to stop it from becoming overpowering our biggest tip is to apply sparingly. To make this look work you’ll need to find a colour that works for you and your complexion. Turquoise and green eyeliners tend work better with green, hazel or blue eyes, whereas purples and pinks look better on someone with brown eyes.

Heading to the beach is a summer staple and Sydney has a lot to offer in the beach department. However if we were you we’d be avoiding the big touristy beaches like Manly and Bondi and head instead to the slightly smaller ones such as Tamarama, Bronte and Freshwater.

Catherine Alcorns Cabaret Show

Harbourlife starts off the summer with a full program of house music and Homebake continues the summer vibe with its legendary annual festival celebrating Australian arts, music and comedy. After the New Year there is also Big Day Out and Soundwave, but between all the major festivals there are plenty of smaller music events, so pick one and enjoy your favouring band live this summer.

Markets

For those of you who love to shop summer is the time to try shopping at markets rather than department stores. We love the outdoor vibe and discovering things you couldn’t find anywhere else to give people for Christmas.
