Canadian Cyber Security Organisation Seeks to Uplevel Its Recruiting Strategy with Robust Development Benefits One of Canada’s leading cyber security companies was seeking help to increase its recruiting and retention package to win the war for tech talent. The organisation, with over 4,000 employees, specializes in enterprise critical event management solutions, endpoint protection, and securing the Internet of things (IoT) using artificial intelligence and machine learning against cyberthreats.
CHALLENGE: The organisation, located in Ontario, was offering better pay and employee development to their IT employees that left another local insurance organisation. Their effective recruiting package created a high demand for a more programmatic way to scale the training benefit to ensure they could retain and continue to recruit new talent.
SOLUTION: Learning Tree’s program was built around their ask of upskilling in interpersonal skills to help their IT talent be more wellrounded for more effective stakeholder engagement. This Onboarding & Upskilling Program provided communication skills, management and leadership and other soft skills training to new employees. This program was also available to upskill/reskill existing employees. These programs were setting new employees up for success and providing ongoing skills to help people further their careers within their new organisation.
From 2008 to 2011, they spent over $1 million in this Onboarding & Upskilling training with 70+ events and 800 + employees trained. (This organisation is now part of a larger organisation.)
