Financial Membership Institute Agile Coaching and Program Management Project Roll-out for Microsoft Dynamics This financial membership institute is headquartered in the UK, with offices in Brussels, Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore with more than 15,000 members. The institute identified a business need to invest in the development of a new business management system which would form the heart of the digital transformation.
CLIENT CHALLENGE: The institute’s desired platform was Microsoft Dynamics® and while they had internal system development capability, they were also seeking a training partner who was Microsoft®-certified and could provide experts and skilled instructional designers/trainers to work alongside their development team to produce the training artifacts that would be needed for the various groups of system users. The system development was to be managed in an agile environment and a partner with solid agile experience was needed. After evaluating the market, the Institute selected Learning Tree International as their training partner for our Microsoft® Gold Partner status, use of real-world practicing consultants, our ability to operate in an agile environment, our multimodal design and development capability and our program management services.
IMPLEMENTATION A technical project manager was initially added to the development team to scope the work, capture the workflow, set up the agile boards and the activities for the initial sprints. Then a team of two Dynamics consultants were added to the team that each provided the three key capabilities – Real world design and application experience – instructional design – trainer. A Learning Tree International project manager was added and helped the team produce training artifacts for each sprint of design work and updated them as the system went through user acceptance testing and changes.
