Confidence
Design Concept: Representation of emotional resilience and the willpower each person has to achieve their dreams - shown through two components, the African Tabono symbol and the metaphor “breaking through the glass ceiling”
The Tabono
Final goal - Paying it forward. #4
Design Goals: sustainability inclusive design maximizing the space
West African symbol derived from the Akinkra language that translates to “paddle” or “oar.” Universally, it is drawn as four stylized oars/paddles forming a cross and is viewed as one paddle rowing continuously. The Tabono is associated with the hard work of rowing in a boat; thus, it symbolizes hard work, strength, confidence, and unity of purpose
An invisible barrier that women face when attempting to advance in a hierarchy. The glass ceiling cannot be broken by just one person; we must help other women break through their glass ceilings too. The glass ceiling is broken through the small-wins strategy in four stages: strengthening your network, advocating for yourself, defining clear goals, and creating your own opportunities.
When clients walk in, they strengthen their network and advocate for themselves. to walk in. at the boutique. Hard work at the career center. The boutique assists our clients in building their confidence through “Power Dressing ” The career center provides mentorship that allows them to define their goals

The accessory dwelling unit was created with a covered pathway conne primary living s
The client requested the primary living space to have a mid-century modern style with capacity for aging-inplace.
This site was located in South Austin, with a primary living space and an accessory dwelling unit on the site. I was given the opportunity to design both living spaces.
Design Goals: aging-in-place sustainability universal design visibility accessibility
Design Concept: Mobius Strip - An infinite loop with a one-sided surface that cannot be defined as internal or external. This phenomenon is seen as symbol of unity due to the fact that whatever side of the Mobius you start on, or what direction you go, you will always end up on the same path.
The Mobius Strip takes the shape of a circle, which is the one of the oldest symbols in the world. It is associated with unity, completeness and perfection. The circle brings individuals together in a way that creates trust, respect, and intimacy.
There are several aspects of the word unity that shape this design. Unity represents the harmony between the environment, humans, and the three women in the design concept. Throughout the design, this will be shown by the personalized spaces that meet the unique needs of each end-user.
The space is also designed for aging-in-place, allowing the end-users to live harmoniously with each other and their environment for years to come. The design will feature an open floor plan with wayfinding that guides you throughout the space in a circle, creating a unified environment while still providing privacy for the personalized areas.

The purpose of this project was to create our current living space in Revit. Once my space was created, I was given the opportunity to remodel the living space to address any unmet needs I experienced whilst living there.
