L.E.A.D. CENTER FOR YOUTH
is a nonprofit using sports based youth development (SBYD) to inspire and equip Black youth with the tools they need to live sustainable lives of significance. Through year-round programming, delivered by full time coach-mentors, L.E.A.D. moves youth from a mindset of disengagement to a mindset of agency.

L.E.A.D. teaches student-athletes how to overcome three curveballs that threaten their success: CRIME, POVERTY, AND RACISM.
Sports-Based Youth Development (SBYD) is the intentional use of sports to break down the barriers marginalized youth face in pursuing successful, sustainable lives. This methodology activates the skills developed by learning, practicing, and playing sports into lifelong, transferable skills that can completely transform a young person’s life.
