Spring 2024 Agribusiness Minor Graduates!

The Center for Agribusiness is proud to report five students graduated this semester with a minor in Agribusiness. Fabio, Walter, Mason and Ali (pictured, Annabella - not pictured), all walked the stage during the first weekend of May to take their first step into the workforce The Center for Agribusiness hosted a celebration to see them off prior to graduation. We have nine more students who have successfully completed the requirements to receive the minor, but havenotyetfinishedtheirothercoursework.Weexpecttoseethosestudentswalkthestagethis summer or fall. We are so proud of all of our students and we cannot wait to see where the world takes them from here! Special thanks to Dustin Toberman of Omni AG for meeting with our students regarding career opportunities and Dean Westley of the College of Business for joininginonthefunaswell!

New Agribusiness Courses Offered in Fall 2024

We are excited to announce that we will be offering two new courses to student this Fall semester Dr. Barry Goodwin, a FGCU Presidential Fellow from North Carolina State University, will be offering Agricultural Policy virtually to our students. Currently, the course is near capacity, so we expect it to be a great semester for Dr. Goodwin. Dr. Roka teamed up with FGCU’sSchoolofResortandHospitalityManagementtoofferFarmtoTableSustainabilitythis Fall. This course will be taught in conjunction with the Resort and Hospitality Management faculty to teach students the entirety of the food supply chain, from farm to table! This course willalsosatisfytheUniversity’sColloquiumrequirementwhichallstudentsmustcomplete This course includes a writing component, field trips and will have service-learning (volunteering) components.
