The Power of Giving The Power of Giving, featuring why each donation counts and goes towards a person or family in need within our community, is our mission at UWSV, bringing together individuals and resources to build a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate community. “When you donate to the United Way, each dollar you give is going toward helping someone in our community,” said Jennifer Anchors, United Way of Suwannee Valley’s Executive Director. “We are all part of this community and by pitching in and giving together, we can start to see a big differences within our own communities.” The UWSV wants each person to realize that if they donated $2.75 – or the average price of a cup of coffee – per pay period, they would end up donating roughly $75 per year. Now here is where The Power of Giving emerges – imagine if 10,000 employees from around the North Florida area donated the same amount, the community could see roughly $750,000 donated to charitable needs in the community. This is The Power of Giving. Will you join us as we work to advance the common good of our community?

Our campaign theme this year is “Give Where You Live.” We all have an opportunity
to contribute to building a strong community through time, talent and money. Contributions from any one or a combination thereof are utilized for the benefit of the community. Our fundraising goal is $500,000. The goal is to make every effort for our United Way to make the best possible impact on the wellbeing of our community. The health of our community is important to invest in. In our current climate, health is not only physical, but also financial and educational. Jennifer Anchors, Executive Director of the United Way stated, “I know more people in our community are hurting, now more than ever and they need your help. We all want to help, but often I hear questions or statements like, “I’d help if I had the time” or “Where are the greatest needs?” United Way can take the burden off of donors having to decide where to give.”
We are all part of this community and together we can make it succeed. At United Way of Suwannee Valley we believe that UNITED we can make change happen… one day at a time.
