cittád’acqua The International Centre Cities on Water Cittá d’Acqua is a non-profit association founded in Venice, Italy in 1989, which develops research and promotes activities on the multiple aspects of the relationship between cities and water. The Centre acts as an interface with the cities on water, all over the world, involved in restoring a positive relationship with water, in order to improve the quality of the urban environment. The design of the new identity system for Cittá d’Acqua encompasses clean elements, minimalism + simplicity. White space conveys the goal of cleanliness for the cities on water. The symbol to brand the Cittá d’Acqua Centre is of the horse, which holds spiritual meaning. It is believed that the Horse is a symbol of the continuity of life and an emblem of life force. Many cultures assign the attributes of the four elements to the Horse; Earth, Fire, Water and Air. In the symbol I designed for Cittá d.Acqua, you will see two horse silhouettes, which represent two of the four elements, earth and water.
