LBPC PRESIDENT Dear Friends, Well I hope everyone has been able to avoid the nasty little flu bugs that have been running around this year. I haven’t and let me be the first to say, they are a bear! For those of you that have stayed well or had the foresight to get a Flu shot, I hope you’ve had a chance to come by the Club and see some of the changes that are taking place. If you don’t mind a little dust and debris, you’ll see that our capital improvements are in full swing. As of this writing, we are well into a number of projects such as; the exterior painting and repairs, painting the Entry, Offices, Boardroom, Pub, and Red Room. We’ve replaced the toilets in the women’s restroom, with new tile floors and paint on the way. We’ve also done some compliance upgrades in the Kitchen as well as some plumbing and roof repairs. There’s plenty of other things in the works, but I think you can get the idea. In other words, the Plan is moving forward. Our new Manager, Bette Bloom, is also hard at work and quickly settling into her new role! For as much as she has immersed herself and the time she spends at the Club I swear she keeps a cot in her office! All joking aside, I know that Bette’s portion of the Plan is moving along as well. She has a heavy burden to shoulder with the difficult task of simultaneously managing the Club’s affairs, marketing outside event sales, planning member events and driving new memberships. Please give her all the support you can in her endeavors. For all the good news I have to share, I also want to remind everyone that the hard work has just begun. We have no intention of resting on our laurels in the coming year and I suspect the fight to grow a successful and sustainable Club will continue long past my tenure. Along with all the work of our Boards, Committees (both Men’s and Women’s) and volunteers, we need the continued support of our Member base. So please; come have a dinner, plan an event, bring a friend or sponsor a new member. We are what make this Club what it is, so let’s do it together! So with that being said, here’s to a wonderful and prosperous new year to the Club and all it’s members! As always, thank you for your continued support, Dan McGrew President

Women’s Chairman Hello Everyone! I hope you had a safe and happy New Year. Please remember to mark you calendars for February 5th for the Women’s luncheon. We are having Korean dancers with their very colorful costumes. On March 5th, we are having an Irish singer and dancer. Remember we moved the luncheon from the first Wednesday to the first Tuesday. Hope to see all of you and your friends at these Luncheons. May God Bless all of you, Caroline

FROM THE MANAGER... It is hard to believe we have entered 2013. We have so much to be thankful for and many good things being planned at the Club. It has been a busy three months for all of us here and we are working together as a team to improve all aspects for you to have an exceptional experience while you are here. The Capital Improvements Committee is moving forward with the Phase 1 and it is very exciting to see the changes on a day-to-day basis. Please pay attention to future mailings as we are working on new ideas for the Club to begin in March after Phase 1 is complete. We would like your ideas and input so we can see more participation. Remember this is your Club and we want all of you to be excited to be here. We have a name change announcement…we have renamed the Conference Room to the President’s Board Room. All of the President’s Photos will be cleaned and moved to honor and recognize all their hard work. Any past president’s willing to participate toward a purchase of a plaque for outside the room, please let me know. We are getting ready for the Super Bowl and now that football season is ending we have decided to stay open all Mondays, except national holidays. It will be Monday Sports Night at the LBPC. It seems our regular Monday Night Group has expanded and they have become a family who look forward to seeing each other on Monday Nights. We will be the home everyone congregates so please join us on Monday Nights. There will be a limited menu and drink specials surrounded by friends. Note there will be no Sunday Buffet this month due to Super Bowl Sunday. Power Trip has been scheduled for all Thursdays in February except for the 14th which I hope you have not forgotten is Valentine’s Day. Please bring your sweetheart and/or family to the Club. We will be having piano music and complimentary champagne with dinner in the Red Room. It was teamwork at its best for taking down the Christmas decorations this year. There were so many people helping that it took no time to box and organize for next Christmas. A big thank you goes out to the Women’s Club for keeping the kitchen in working order. The kitchen now has a new ice machine and sandwich prep station Last but not least we want to thank all the members that do persevere and join us for lunch, dinner, Monday Night Football and Thursday nights for Live Entertainment during a little dust. It is much appreciated. Onward and upward, Bette Bloom General Manager
