About Early College Initiative at Long Beach City College: Long Beach City College's Early College Initiative (ECI) offers four early college programs that provide high school (and

middle school) students with the opportunity to enroll in and receive credit for college courses. These programs include: 1) Individual Dual Enrollment

2) Early College Pathway Partnership (ECPP) 3) High School Articulation

4) Early College @ Browning High School BENEFITS OF PARTCIPATING IN AN EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM:

o No enrollment fees

o Earn college credit and save time towards obtaining a degree or certificate

o Access to LBCC resources and services

o Resume booster (earn a graduation medallion and/or certificate of participation)

INDIVIDUAL DUAL ENROLLMENT Individual Dual Enrollment is for high school (and middle school) students desiring to enroll at LBCC on their own and outside of a coordinated program between LBCC and the K-12 district/high school district. Individual dual enrollment students may enroll in any available course if prerequisite requirements are met.

EARLY COLLEGE PATHWAY PARTNERSHIP The Early College Pathways Partnership dual enrollment program is for 11-12 grade students from the Long Beach Unified School District, Lynwood High School and the Learn for Life Charter School desiring to enroll at LBCC as part of a coordinated program. ECPP students participate in specially-selected courses designed to help students obtain a career technical education certificate, free of tuition and textbook fees.

Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) and Learn4Life Charter School Grade 11 – 12 (For the summer term, incoming 11th grade students can participate)

Specially selected courses and sections.

General LBCC services + Coordinated support services designed for college and career preparation

Enrollment + Health Fees are waived

College Service card fees apply. *$20 for Fall & Spring terms and $13 for the Summer term.

The Browning High School/Long Beach City College Early College Culinary Pathway g pathway to Culinary Arts and Hospitality careers.

The goal of the partnership is to provide a transformational educational experience f specialized support at no cost to the student – preparing them for future college and school diploma and potentially an Associate degree. Designed for students to earn h Culinary Arts and Hospitality pathways.
