Sutton Sting Corporate Opportunities 24/25

Sutton Sting Ice Hockey Academy is a not-for-profit community ice hockey club with a mission to provide local children with the opportunity to play ice hockey in competitive national leagues.

Our club was established in 2006 and we are based out of the Lammas Leisure Centre in Sutton in Ashfield. We currently offer ice hockey at all levels for all ages, from our learn to play sessions and Under 10’s junior level to the National Ice Hockey League at adulthood. In 2016 Sutton Sting were proud to be named the English Ice Hockey Association’s Club of the Year in recognition of its’ amazing achievements.

This past season saw our National Ice Hockey League 2 (NIHL2) team, consisting primarily of players grown and developed through the Sutton Sting Academy programme finish in 2nd place for the where we qualified for playoffs and were narrowly beaten in the finals after a nail-biting penalty shootout. We achieved a club first as Morgan Glasby became the first Sutton Sting academy trained player to amass 50+ points in an NIHL season.

We also suffered defeat in the Laidler Cup finals, in a club first appearance, after taking the lead in the first leg but losing out in overtime.

Team work, competitiveness, communication, independence, work ethic, discipline, leadership, and tenacity are all traits which this demanding sport develops.

Our players come from all backgrounds across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and South Yorkshire. The youngest teams practice at the Lammas Rink, whilst the older teams are based out of Ice Sheffield. All our teams compete within the English Ice Hockey Association’s league structure across the Midlands and North of England. We pride ourselves in developing players who compete at all levels of senior ice hockey.
