Number of each Ram must be legibly branded on near horn according to numbers in catalogue
Shepherds must remain in Charge and give delivery receiving a pass from the buyers. Delivery must not be given without a Pass
The Auctioneers do not hold themselves responsible for mistakes in delivery
SELLERSLEVY
A 3% Sellers Levy capped at £2,000 (max £60 per tup) will be implemented on behalf of the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association

Payment due on Day of Purchase
Interest chargeable from date of purchase at 7% over Bank of Scotland base rate at the time, for accounts in default
Purchases shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law in England and Scotland

Business Debit/Credit Cards are now subject to a 1.5% charge

Completion of a Purchaser Detail Slip (front of catalogue) is essential for parties who have not dealt with the Company before
New customers and/or agents wishing to purchase on behalf of another party must contact the company’s main office at Lanark at least 48 hours prior to sale, to provide full details and references for authorisation

MOUTHWARRANTY
ALL SHEEP MUST BE GUARANTEED CORRECT IN THE MOUTH ON THE DAY OF SALE
All Complaints regarding incorrect mouths must be lodged along with £20 at Main Office after purchase no later than 2 hours after the conclusion of the Sale. The fee of £20 will be refunded, if buyers appeal is upheld. A veterinary surgeon will be in attendance and his decision is final
All rams and ram lambs are warranted by the vendor to be capable of and effective at natural service. If any such ram has proved to be incapable of or ineffective at natural service and written notice to that effect is given to the Auctioneers within 10 weeks after the date of sale then, after proof, the purchase may return the Ram to the Vendor who shall refund the purchase price of the animal together with costs of transport and veterinary expenses. No claim for consequential loss will be entertained

All sheep will be sold under the Auspices of the Society and the conditions of sale relevant to the sales centre – either IAAS or LAA
59 Stock Rams
59.1 Vendor’s warranty - The vendor warrants that any ram sold as a stock ram for the amount in paragraph (j) of the Appendix or more is capable of and effective at natural service. This warranty is a 10 week warranty.
59.2 Purchaser’s rights - If the purchaser proves a breach of warranty then the purchaser may return the ram to the vendor who shall, at the purchaser’s option, either replace the ram with another ram of equal value which is capable of and effective at natural service, or refund the purchase price together with such costs and charges as the purchaser may be entitled to under these Conditions. Notice of a claim must be supported by a veterinary surgeon’s certificate confirming that:
(a) the ram’s incapacity or ineffectiveness is not the result of injury, accident or illness happening after the time of the sale: and

EXPORTNOTICE
As of 1st January 2021, Lawrie & Symington Limited are not able to offer direct export for sheep due to new exporting rules. If you are a buyer from Northern Ireland, Eire, or the European Union then sheep cannot be moved direct from a sale. It is the responsibility of the Vendor and/or Purchaser to make the necessary arrangements. Please consult the vendor to check if they are willing to assist with this and what cost will be involved.
NO Direct Export or Vendor Returns will be available
