Joseph Keating New Work Thursday 29th March – Saturday 28th April Lavit Gallery 5 Father Mathew St, Cork The Lavit Gallery is delighted to present a solo exhibition of new work by Joseph Keating. Joseph Keating’s current practice seeks to examine the connection or disconnection of people and place within the context of separation from one’s home and community, including expropriation, displacement, dislocation, relocation, migration and emigration. This recent body of work focuses on time recently spent in Palestine. His practice uses multiple mediums for the work. Painting, sculptural elements and mixed media used are intended to work towards a vocabulary that encompasses and references the spirit of the work. Joseph Keating was born and raised in Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry. He emigrated to the U.S. in the 1980s. Returning to Ireland in 2009 he now lives in Ballinskelligs. In 2010 he enrolled in Crawford College of Art and Design and graduated with a B.A. (Hon.) Fine Art in 2014. He is currently undertaking a research masters
