A popular teacher with an engaging sense of humor, he was the 2003 recipient of the Phi Beta Kappa William Clyde DeVane Award for undergraduate teaching. TONI DORFMAN directs undergraduate theater studies at Yale and teaches directing, acting, and a playwright/director workshop. She has directed plays by Shakespeare, Stoppard, Beckett, Pinter, Orton, and Wilder at Yale, and in 2002 founded the Yale Playwrights Festival.
