The Laurens County Revolutionary War Driving Tour consists of 14 dramatic Revolutionary War events located at 10 different sites. Heroes, Heroines and the Unheralded are highlighted throughout the county.
The Laurens County Museum is the headquarters. At the museum a comprehensive exhibit of Laurens County Revolutionary War events is on display. The tour can begin at the museum, or each specific site can be toured individually one at a time.
Laurens County is home to some of the most heroic, dramatic and horrific acts of the war. It was a civil war in the Backcountry, and the populace was equally divided. From the ashes of destruction a new nation arose, and what happened in Laurens County is a clear example of that nation building transformation.

Culbertson Backcountry Settlement
This is a display of authentic 18th century buildings with log homes, a blockhouse, etc. depicting pioneer life.
Dicey Langston and Langston Baptist Church
Dicey Langston was a true heroine.

Hammond’s Old Store
