‘Reverberations’
This project is centred around my personal soundscape environment, encompassing a sensory journey investigating connections to sound and sight. By field recording, composing my own audio track, creating visual analysis and exploring mixed media materials, I have been able to identify significant connections and create my own personal audio visualisation for my environment project.

Through field recordings and research into my acoustic surroundings, I created a digital catalogue to document the sounds within my immediate environment. I used a recording device to create a variety of sounds capturing the essence of location.

With its versatile and tactile qualities, Lino printing offered a dynamic platform for expression, enabling exploration of a wide range of textures, lines and shapes to carve my design. Drawing inspiration from my audio visualisation project, I created a portal design that reflects the dynamic and immersive qualities for sound and visual art.

By delving into visual communication, I developed a sneaker design inspired by the Jordan brand, utilising my Lino design, I implemented this into a product mock-up for a sneaker campaign.

‘Spherical Visualisation’
Using ink and string to create a visually striking design for beats headphones, this enabled me to create a dynamic, intricate design with a variety of texture and patterns seen in audio analysation representing sequences seen within soundscapes. This also allowed me to use this as a template to illustrate and manipulate into further designs.
THE COSMIC OUTCASTS

RECORD ONE

Inspired by the visualisation signals, I was motivated to create a series of vinyl covers using string art to craft the design. Utilising string art enabled me to create an abstract mockup conveying the essence of the band title.

Developing audio greeting cards creating an interactive experience for the buyer. Whilst composing the card design, I generated a gradient audio wave of the audio track and integrated an scannable QR Code linking to Spotify.

‘Digital Illustration’
Drawing inspiration from Gallery visits and multiple photographs taken at the visits, I have created illustration’s using Pro Create to document impactful artworks to input into my sketchbooks. This technique has developed my digital drawing skills and adding to my progression.

Packaging concept for a skin care range inspired by Karla Black’s immersive, abstract paper sculptures. Visual responses were created during a visit to the New Walsall Art Gallery with the aim of capturing elements from the installations with a particular focus on Black’s utilisation of cosmetics.

Building from the research of Karla Black’s use of paper as an artistic medium, I embarked on a business branding concept for the ‘Alps Retreat’, envisioning merchandise, logo, and product designs to be showcased in the retreat’s promotional package. By identifying similarities in the shapes of the paper sculptures, I envisioned incorporating a colour theme capturing the essence of a mountain terrain reflecting the abstract lines created.

‘Sound and Sight’
Lino Printing allowed me to artistically process a sound visualisation reflection within a print. This poster promotes an exhibition dedicated to a sensory sound exhibition with the design focused on the emphasis of a sound wave.

‘Listen’

By employing Photoshop Warping, I was inspired by Peter Strain’s distinctive illustration and hand composed lettering style. I composed a collection of words associated with sound, delving into the terminology of soundscapes to create a visual sensory interpretation.

Inspired by Hakon Stenshott, a Norwegian Designer exploring connections of sound and type design, I created a type face created using illustration inspired by sound while utilised Photoshop to digitally filter into a dynamic range of optional font ideas.
‘Font Visualisation’
‘Dynamic Situation’

Honing inspiration from contemporary artist Marco Fusinato to create a series of visual interpretations using acrylic paint and fine liner to explore the play between free-form release and contradictions of opposing forces in sound. The dynamic situations in which energies are captured combining allegorical appropriation with impactful intensity.

‘Sublimation Sequence’

Experimenting with other art mediums, I inter connected with fabric form a patterned sequence seen in digital visualisation and identify repetitive patterns and overlayed colour progressions.
