ANTHROPOLOGIE® HOLIDAY 2024 VESPA

(Image provided by Anthropologie®)

Given design plans, instructions, and materials provided by Anthropologie® , was the start of bringing a knitted “Vespa” to life for a holiday store display. By carefully using materials such as cardboard, chipboard, masking tape, knitted blankets along with crocheting yarn, and hot-glue, I was able to assemble the Vespa.

FABRICATION STUDIES

LIGHTING DESIGN

In a design fabrication class, I was given a task to design a lighting fixture using a 3D modeling software and a laser-cutting machine. The challenge was to use only one material and no adhesives supporting the lighting fixture. The final design consisted of an array of frosted acrylic curvature partially surrounding an LED bulb.

FABRICATION STUDIES

LIGHTING DESIGN

In a lighting design class, I was given a task to fabricate a lighting fixture using only recycled materials and to “cover” the attached LED light bulb while measuring the foot candle using an illuminate polar map. Using leftover ceramic tiles, frosted acrylic sheets, a laser machine, and a circular drill bit, I was able to design a unique lighting fixture.

COLOR & CULTURE:

ISLAMIC DESIGN

Taking a color theory class, my final project was to help a client who purchased a one bedroom and one bathroom condo and needed design assistance throughout the kitchen, dining & living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The client wanted furniture, fixture, plumbing, and lighting selections inspired by Islamic culture and design.

A TOAST 2 ARTISTRY

Many small businesses were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. By following local & state health guidelines, businesses who were not classified as an essential business, struggled by having very limited capacity in an indoor setting due to social distancing and the increase of Covid-19 cases. This branding interior design class focused on creating an alternative outdoor space, a Covid-19, and program diagram for small businesses of Inglewood, CA to help generate and continue business while following the local & state guidelines.

Tinted glass panels inspired by paint splatters are added to the top of the wooden pergola by bringing in creativity with natural sunlight while painting. These panels would also help block out UV rays from the sun.
