TWIN LAKES MARKETING CLASSES As part of a year long project these Marketing students create the Fall, Winter, and Spring sports programs. In addition to that, they broadcast Tribe Radio weekly on WMRS, produce tltribe.com, and That Indian Show. They use skills in photography, film, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere. BASKETBALL COACHES // COACH ADAMS

Head Coach Kent Adams is starting his 32nd year of coaching Varsity Boys Basketball this season. He coached three years at Caston, five at Mishawaka, and twenty-three years at Twin Lakes. Adams also coached Varsity Cross Country for eight years, one year at Caston, and seven at TL. His greatest coaching accomplishment has been leading his team to 3A State Runner Up in 2017. That same year, they won the J&C Hoops tournament. He has a total of seven sectional titles and two Holiday Tourney Championships. Adams graduated from the University of Indianapolis, where he participated in football, basketball and track. While at Bremen High School, he participated in football, basketball, track, and baseball. He has multiple favorite quotes with a couple being “Pride, Heart, Guts” and “Play Hard, Play Smart, Play Together.”

// COACH CONRAD

Coach Jim Conrad is in his 37th year coaching high school basketball. One of his greatest achievements is to have coached the state runner up team. Coach Conrad went to Whiteland High School. During his time at Whiteland, he participated in football, basketball and track. He also attended United States Air Force Academy, where he played football. In addition, he attended Purdue University to complete his Bachelor’s degree and later went to Indiana Wesleyan University to obtain his Master’s degree in Administration.

// COACH WAYMOUTH

Coach Maury Waymouth has been coaching for an amazing forty-six years, thirty-eight of them at Twin Lakes. Throughout his long career, his greatest achievement was helping coach Twin Lakes in the 2016-2017 season at the State Finals. Coach Waymouth attended Western Kentucky University for his Bachelor’s degree and Indiana State University to obtain his Master’s degree. While at Western Kentucky University, he played basketball and continued on to play semi-pro basketball. His favorite quote is “You are your only limit.”

// COACH BENNINGTON

Coach Bennington has been coaching for 16 years. Coach Bennignton played his high school ball at Western Boone. His greatest achievements are being a part of a great program here at Twin Lakes and improving player’s skills. Coach Bennington received his education at Western Illinois University. He enjoys watching the growth of the team throughout the year. His favorite quote from Michael Jordan is “You will miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

// COACH SEILTZ

Coach Daniel Seiltz is in his 8th year of coaching and his 5th year coaching basketball at Twin Lakes. He played basketball and ran track in high school. His favorite basketball memory is coaching in the State Finals. He lives by the quote, “Never wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get dirty and the pig likes it.”

// COACH BRIDWELL

Coach Ed Bridwell has been coaching for 5 years at different levels (3-8th grade), and this is his first at Twin Lakes. He played basketball at McCutcheon for four years, and played one season at Eastern Washington Universtiy in Cheney, Washington. He is married to Sara and has two children, Clayton and Kendall. He also has a dog named Champ. His favorite quote is, “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games, and 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan

// COACH CRABB

Coach Casey Crabb has been coaching for 30 years here at Twin Lakes. He participated for four years in football, basketball, and track at Twin Lakes. He then played college football for one year. When asked for a favorite memory, he said there were too many to single out, and he just loves being around the great kids over the years. He has been married for 22 years to Chris, has two kids, Justin and Adam, and has a Golden Retriever named Lucy. His favorite quote is “Challenges can either be stepping stones or stumbling blocks; it depends on how you view them.” WINTER SPORTS 2019-2020

HOUSER BRAYDEN HOUSER Brayden’s favorite winter sport memory is the state runner-up experience his freshmen year. Brayden has received the Sportsmanship award, Player in the Top 100, and many other individual awards. His future plans are to become a lineman and work on the powerlines.

KOTOLYK MATVIY KOTOLYK Matviy is a basketball player from Ukraine. His favorite winter sports memory is winning the first game of the season. He plans to come back to attend a college in the United States when he graduates high school.

MINTHORN DAYTON MINTHORN Dayton plays basketball during the winter and plays baseball in the spring. His favorite winter sport memory is playing in the sectional games at Calumet. His future plans are to attend Purdue and major in civil engineering.

OUSLEY JADDEN OUSLEY Jadden is a three sport athlete, playing tennis, basketball and golf. His favorite winter sports memory is all of the pregame talks with the team. He plans to attend Purdue Fort Wayne on a golf scholarship in the fall.

MICHAEL “BIG MIKE” NEWMAN Michael is a manager for the Indians. In the fall he runs cross country. His favorite baketball memory is going to state during his freshman year. His future plans are to go to the Indiana School of Ministry to become a minister.

GABRIELLE LANE Gabi is a three sport athlete. She plays basketball, softball, and she runs cross country. Her favorite winter sports memory is eating chili at Coach Bowsman’s house. Her future plans are to attend Purdue University for nursing.

LUCY MOWERY Lucy is a two sport athlete. She plays basketball and tennis. Her favorite winter sports memory is beating West Lafayette last year, and hitting 4 back to back 3’s to put them up. Her future plans are to study elementary education and become a kindergarden teacher.

GIRLS BASKETBALL COACHES // COACH BOWSMAN

Coach Bowsman has been the head varsity girls coach at TL for 17 years, but has coached basketball for a total of 22 years. Twenty of those years have been at Twin Lakes. He played football, basketball, and baseball. His favorite memory is winning sectionals in 2007. He has four kids: Courtney, Ethan, Ean and Addie with his wife, Betsy. His favorite quote is “Good teams become great ones when members trust each other enough to surrender the ME for the WE” by Phil Jackson.

Coach Kingery has been coaching for 24 years, 11 of those have been at Twin Lakes. He has coached cross country, basketball, tennis, and track. His favorite coaching memory is winning JC Hoops in 2007 and being ranked #1 in the state. He is married with 2 children and 2 grandchildren. His favorite quote is “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.”

Coach Nickerson is in his 20th coaching season. He has coached high school basketball and tennis and college tennis. One of his favorite coaching memories is winning the most JV games in school history. The other is setting the school record for most wins in a JV season. His wife Jaime teaches at Eastlawn, and they have three children, Ryan, Olivia, and Kassi. His favorite quote is “Coach them hard and hug them after.”

KLINGBERG LOVISA KLINGBERG Lovisa swims and cheers in the winter, and plays soccer during the fall. She plans to go back to Sweden to study design, and maybe go to Australia to study in college. Previous records, awards, honors: She played soccer for seven years, and danced for two.

MACOWEN EMILIE MACOWEN Emilie has been cheering for four years at Twin Lakes. She enjoys being on the sidelines with her teammates. She has been awarded with the Perseverance, MVP and Most Dedicated Cheer Awards. She plans to attend Ball State and major in Audiology.

NORTHERN BREHANNA NORTHERN Brehanna is a first year cheerleader here at Twin Lakes. She hasn’t competed in any other sports until now. Her favorite cheerleading memory is being a flyer for this team.

SCOTT MADELINE SCOTT

This is Maddie’s fourth year cheering at Twin Lakes. She also runs cross-country and track. Her favorite cheer memory is the bus rides home. She received the most oustanding cheerleader award for both football and basketball, most improved, and the sportsmanship award. She plans on attending IUPUI or Ball State to study Respiratory Therapy.

STACK HALEY STACK This is Haley’s first year to cheer. Her favorite memory of cheering was cheer camp. She and Bailey were all settled in their room with loud music, face masks, and a lot of good food. She was a member of the Color Guard and received Most Improved. Her future plans are to attend college in Kentucky.

COACH SOLIDAY Coach Soliday has been coaching for three years at Twin Lakes. She was a cheerleader from 7th grade all the way through high school. Her favorite memory was from two years ago when she attended her very first competition with her middle school squad. The competition was at Mackey Arena at Purdue University, and she and her squad were all very nervous. The girls did a phenominal job and rocked their performance. Celebrating afterwards will always be a great memory for her. Her favorite quote is, “Every day may not be good, but there is good in every day.”

Coach Vogel has been coaching for four years, but he has 8 years experience. He participated in high school sports. His best achievements are watching kids achieve their goals. Coach Vogel attended Twin Lakes High School and Purdue University. His favorite quote is “The key is not the will to win...everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important” by Bobby Knight.

// DIVING COACH MEKOS

Assistant Coach Mekos has coached for three seasons. She has a lot of favorite memories, but the most rewarding is seeing the divers learn new tricks and watch their skills grow. Coach Mekos attended Indiana University and participated in diving all four years at Valparaiso, where she placed 13th in state her senior year. She has two sons, 6 grandkids and 2 cats. Her favorite quote is “Karma will take care of it.”

BURNS ABBI BURNS Abbi is a two sport athlete. She swims in the winter, and plays volleyball in the fall. Her favorite winter sport memory is being with her teammates. She plans to attend college to pursue elementary education.

HOWARD KLINGBERG KAYLAN HOWARD Kaylan is a three sport athlete. She swims in the winter, runs cross country in the fall and track in the spring. Her future plans are to attend IUK to study New Media and Art Tech.

LOVISA KLINGBERG Lovisa is a three sport athlete. She swims and cheers in the winter, and plays soccer in the fall. She plans to go back to Sweden to study design, and maybe go to Australia for college.

MILLER MADI MILLER Madi is a two sport athlete. She swims in the winter, and plays Unified flag football in the fall. Her favorite memory of playing a winter sport is having family dinners and listening to Sunflower every practice. She plans on going to a university to study nursing.

THOMPSON AYANNA THOMPSON Ayanna is a three sport athlete. In addition to swimming, she plays volleyball in the fall and runs track in the spring. Her favorite winter sport memory is breaking a school record in the 400 free relay with her best friends and going to state 4 years in a row. She plans to attend a university studying audiology and possibly playing volleyball.

VOGEL McKENZIE VOGEL McKenzie swims in the winter. Her favorite swimming memory is going to state every year with her relay team. Her future plans are to go to a university and major in Human and Health Sciences. She is considering swimming in college.

KEESLING ZACH KEESLING Zach wrestles and plays football. Zach is part of the weightlifting club at TL. He is the only current student in the 1000 pound club. His favorite winter sport memory is winning the North White Invite. Zach was named to the All-White County Offensive football team this year. His future plans are to study Construction Management at Purdue University.
