CEO, The Los Angeles Tribune Founder, Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival
Dear Friends, Filmmakers, and Fellow Dreamers,
I want to personally welcome you to the first-ever Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival.
This means a lot to me—not just as a media entrepreneur, but as someone who truly believes in the power of stories. This festival didn’t come from a boardroom or a marketing plan. It came from conversations, from late nights thinking about the future of media, from a desire to create something meaningful and lasting.
With this festival, we’ve opened the doors wider for underrepresented voices across the globe to share their perspective, and expand our collective lens.
To the filmmakers and artists here: your work is the heartbeat of this festival. Your willingness and courage to dream big, and to share with the world a story through your eyes, are what give this gathering great meaning.
Thank you for being part of our shared endeavor to shape what we believe will become a lasting legacy—one that honors timeless excellence while championing new voices. I see this festival as the beginning of a global conversation—one rooted in both rigor and reverence— that celebrates artistic growth, the richness of cultural diversity, and the human connection that unites us here.
Gratefully,
Moe Rock CEO, The Los Angeles Tribune Founder, Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival
Welcome Note from Dr. Emily Letran Co-Founder, Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival
Dear Honored Guests, Filmmakers, Partners, and Friends,
It is with great joy and deep gratitude that I welcome you to the inaugural Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival. As Co-Founder of this visionary event, I am honored to stand alongside a remarkable team of collaborators, creatives, and supporters who have helped turn this dream into reality.
Bringing a new international festival to life—especially for the first time—is no small feat. It has been a journey filled with excitement, learning, and yes, challenges. But those challenges have only deepened our commitment to creating a platform that celebrates the global language of storytelling through film.
I want to thank all the film makers who shared their masterpieces with all of us. I want to acknowledge the extraordinary team that has made this event possible. Working hand-in-hand with our Film Festival Director Tram Huong Nguyen, Associate Film Festival Director Kimberly Douglas, Executive Producer Ashkan Tabibnia, and under the expert production leadership of Rohini Hack and her team, we’ve crafted a festival that not only showcases powerful narratives but also builds bridges between cultures and communities.
We are proud to collaborate with the San Francisco New Concept International Film Festival and the Flow Film Festival from Florida. This union of passion and purpose has elevated our vision beyond borders and expectations and affirms my belief in that wonderful song, “You’ve got a friend in me!”
Most importantly, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to our incredible leaders — CEO Moe Rock and COO Parisa Rose, whose dedication and unwavering encouragement have been a cornerstone of our success.
Together, we have created more than just a film festival. We have created a space where emerging voices can be heard, diverse perspectives are celebrated, and the power of film can inspire unity and change.
Thank you for joining us on this historic journey. May the stories shared over these days touch your heart, spark conversation, and remind us all of the beauty and power of storytelling.
With sincere gratitude, Dr. Emily Letran Co-Founder, Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival
