OVERVIEW The purpose of the project is to renovate the Barrandov terraces swimming pool located under the Barrandov hill in Zbraslavská street, Praha 5, Hlubočepy.

The area is very unique with a huge potential and a special genius loci. The project proposal should encourage the local neighborhood community and Prague residents to experience a similar glory to what the swimming pool had in the past.

However, this glory should be made for modern conditions and requirements, by adding new activities that is not excluding of non swimmers users.The project design will offer a space for all types of users with various activities.

The site is very unique due to its natural factors. In order to preserve the genius loci that can be strongly experienced on the site, the design concept is inspired by the geological context of the site. The building design incorporates the same natural lines that can be identified on the rocks of the natural context. The project proposal includes developing the site surrounding the proposal’s structure as a whole area to match with the needs of the users. The site area proposal will include activities for families and children by providing a playground and street furniture, which was lacking on the site. Moreover, a glass elevator structure between the swimming pool and the restaurants above the hill will be provided to add connectivity. This elevator can be accessed by the public from the site area using the foot path. This connection will solve the problems of walk-ability.

Structure

The structure used in the project is space frame structure. The building will include customized louvers and tempered glass for glazing. Moreover, GRC panels will be used on the top of the space frame trusses system.

OVERVIEW

The project is located in North Obhur, a water front site. The site is located facing the new future kingdom city and the new tower which will attract many users to the project. The area is highly active and surrounded by mostly entertainment and mixed used usage which will act as a main factor in attracting users which will be perfect for the project location.

-The project will offer spaces for many art forms including entertainment such as; art department, digital media, exhibitions, outdoor exhibitions and artist residency for visitors or guests.

The aim of the project was to design a space that offers all forms of art in one space to meet the objectives and goals of the 2030 Saudi Arabia vision that will include art as a major role to achieve success. The building it’s a first in the kingdom as there is no much proper art facilities that offers a proper environment for artists or aspiring artists. The design concept and philosophy follow the saying “Life Imitates Art”. In everyday life art can be witnessed trough many activities creating a series of invisible dynamic lines that can be seen in brush strikes, music symphonies and dance movement. The design concept will incorporate these invisible lines created by artistic movement to accomplish the sense of the building -imitating art. In this sense, the building it self will act as a piece of art.

Public outdoor activities and exhibition were placed on the beach side for accessibility by the public.

Interior entertainment spaces and classes are facing the beach side also for inspiration and aesthetic value added to the project.

The building is provided with dynamic openings for natural lighting and do to add beauty making the building an exhibit itself to follow the concept. In addition, an automatic opening panels in case of a fire to expel smoke resulted from a fire. In addition, wind catchers and natural lighting were also included in the design.

OVERVIEW

The aim of the project was to design a biophilic hospital that incorporates nature and representations due to the big role of nature in improving people’s health and well-being.

The biophilic design is based on the idea that humans have an inherent need to connect with nature, even in modern settings, and such a connection provided by this design can improve mental and physical health.

The site is located in a small village in Taif called al Oya village. It is a small village with minimum industrial advantages. Considering all these circumstances, the hospital designed to fit the urban surroundings without interference with the surrounding land and environment. That lead to the design idea of the façade treatment inspired by the stone block shapes used in the village surrounding buildings and homes.

OVERVIEW

The main idea for the design concept was to bring unification from all surrounded area and-community and body of transitions from one point to another by creating connection point resulted from a pedestrian friendly bridge. the idea of the bridge is to connect all surrounding area to any other important points such as down the Valley and other points through the Congress centre area. this will bring importance to the congress centre and its usage. moreover, it will create an image of the city and re-introduce the congress centre as an important and useful asset to the city. the congress centre will also have a social program to humanize the area with social activities, such as, creating an exterior accessibility to the restaurant, social space in the northern terrace for all kind of activities such as ,markets, out door exhibition and auditorium for performance arts and more importantly isolating the cars by creating a buffer zone and focusing only on the pedestrians needs, comfort and safety.

The proposal is located in The Prague Congress centre areas. The area offers a lot of potential to despite the problems that are located. such as, the North terrace view was blocked from visitors and from the restaurant users by the new construction. in addition, the area lacks unification and support from surrounding context. also, the area is cultivated by car pollution that resulted in noise pollution and the neglect-ion of it being pedestrian friendly. and finally, the area lack a sense of identity.

The are is surrounded by is surrounded by a few landmarks that can be used to identify the site for accessibility purposes.

Even though the Congress centre is considered to be a public area, it is surrounded by medium to high density residential area. which needs to be considered for connecting in future development to serve the local community.

OVERVIEW

The client wanted a cosy design that is easy on the eye and a design that will merge between comfort and sophistication. All these aspects were considered in the material selection process, such as, wood cladding, veneer stone, and marble counters to add elegance.

Other elements were incorporated in the design, such as, the choice of upholstery of the furniture where calming and soft tone colours were selected to merge nicely with the wood cladding. The rooftop cafe is divided by two sections; family section and singles section separated with a bronze plated partition. The cafe was also provided with dynamic shutters that can be used during the summer heat or during bad weather condition.

OVERVIEW

The princess wanted a getaway space from the city noise for her and her family. The design was aspiring to be calming and relaxing for the user based on the client’s request. The project is considered to be 3 types of bungalow houses that differs based on the type of user. Each bungalow house contains a tint like roof to follow the tradition of the old Bedouin tents. Moreover, each house includes bedrooms, kitchen, toilets and living rooms. It also includes a porch and a pathway that leads to a pavilion for family gatherings in front of the pool for interaction .

OVERVIEW

Rest houses are very common type of building in Saudi Arabia that is mostly used for gathering and as a getaway from the city. it is a small space that includes basic rooms for basic needs. It is usually placed far away from the city noise and placed mostly in the desert. The client wanted to build a rest house that was inspired by old building ruins.

Thus, stone blocks on the most of the treatment were incorporated in the design process. The client also requested a play-field which they are common in these types of structure. Graffitie in the play-field walls were included based on the client request for the place to match his personality. The plan is consisting of; living room, bedrooms, kitchen and toilets.

OVERVIEW

The client wanted a villa design for his large and extended family. The client requested a design that is simple and inspired by classic Greek villas with using Greek architectural elements, such as, Greek columns. The family house was divided into three floors program that included the following; the ground floor has salons, guest toilets, kitchen and dining room. Apartment units with bedrooms and toilets on the first and second floor. in addition, the house will incorporate an open courtyard for ventilation and lighting reasons, which is, a traditional aspect in homes from that region.

The client requested a villa complex design that incorporates classic home designs in Saudi Arabia with a luxurious touch. The villa elevation included classic windows and a large arch window above the entrance for natural lighting. Each villa unit was divided into four floors program that included the following; the ground floor level included; entrance hall, living room, salons, guest toilets, kitchen and dining room. Family Living rooms and bedrooms were included on the first and second floor level. And finally, salon, toilets and a garage were located on the under ground level.
