Iubesc natura, biodiversitatea și în special păsările, într-un mod aproape pătimaș. Mă consider norocos pentru că munca mea este strâns legată de conservarea naturii. Astfel, am avut și am în continuare ocazia să văd o mulțime dintre minunile naturii, atât în țară cât și în diverse alte zone ale Planetei. Cred că a vedea este o mare comoară, dar să arăţi şi altora ceea ce vezi este o comoară şi mai mare. În urmă cu aproximativ un deceniu și jumătate am început să simt nevoia de a promova acest patrimoniu natural inestimabil, cu scopul de a-i face și pe alții să cunoască și să înțeleagă mai bine frumusețea și imensa diversitate a vieții sălbatice.

Totodată, consider că atunci când ajungem să cunoaștem ceva, devenim capabili să îl apreciem și, astfel, să îl conservăm, iar la un moment dat, să îl și protejăm.

Acest lucru m-a determinat să fac din ornitologie și din fotografia de natură principalele mele hobby-uri și să încerc să transmit această convingere și acest mesaj cât mai multor semeni de-ai mei, prin intermediul fotografiilor mele.

Szenvedélyesen szeretem a természetet, az élővilágot és ezen belül talán a legjobban a madarakat. Szerencsésnek tartom magam, mivel a munkám szervesen kapcsolódik a természetvédelemhez. Ezáltal folyamatosan lehetőségem van a természet csodáit megismerni mind az országon belül, mind a világ különböző részein. Mivel hiszem, hogy a meglátás nagy kincs, de láttatni valamit még nagyobb, körülbelül másfél évtizeddel ezelőtt késztetést kezdtem érezni arra, hogy népszerűsítsem ezt a felbecsülhetetlen értékű természeti örökséget azzal a céllal, hogy mások is jobban megismerhessék és megérthessék az élővilág szépségét és sokszínűségét. Vallom, hogy ha valamit megismerünk, akkor azt képesek leszünk értékelni, és ezáltal megőrizni és védeni is. Ez késztetett arra, hogy az ornitológia és a természetfotózás fő hobbijaimmá váljanak, és hogy a képeimen keresztül ezt a hitet és üzenetet próbáljam eljuttatni minél több embertársamhoz.

I have always had a passion for nature, wildlife, and — perhaps most of all — birds. I consider myself lucky to work in close relation to nature conservation, giving me continuing opportunities to discover the wonders of nature both within my country and throughout the world. I believe that being able to see such things is a great treasure, but showing something to others is even greater. About a decade and a half ago, I felt compelled to promote this invaluable natural heritage with the aim of helping others to better understand and appreciate the beauty and diversity of wildlife. I believe that if we come to know something, we will be able to value and thus preserve and protect it.

This belief drove me to take up ornithology and nature photography as my main hobbies and try to convey this value through my photos to as many of my fellow human beings as possible.

Ez a könyv fotós munkásságom Hargita megyére összpontosító részét mutatja be. A megye szülöttjeként a vidék természeti szépségeit, csodáit mutatom be az elmúlt tíz évben készült 312 válogatott felvétel segítségével.

A felvételek kedvenc védett területeimet, illetve más kedvelt tájakat, a megye madár- és emlősvilágának jelentős részét, valamint látványos, védett, virágos növényfajokat, illetve rovarokat örökítenek meg. A könyv legjelentősebb fejezetét a madaraknak szánom, mert ők a legkedvencebb témaköröm. Számokkal szemléltetve 100 tájképben, 146 madárfotóban, 24 emlősöket ábrázoló felvételben, valamint 24 virágos, illetve 18 rovarfotóban gyönyörködhetnek az albumot lapozgatók.

Acest album prezintă acea parte a activității mele fotografice care s-a concentrat pe județul Harghita. Ca nativ al județului, prin intermediul a 312 fotografii selecționate din cele realizate în ultimii zece ani, încerc să prezint frumusețea și minunile naturii din plaiurile natale. Fotografiile mele includ ariile protejate, precum și alte locuri preferate, o mare parte din lumea păsărilor și a mamiferelor județului, precum și plante protejate și insecte spectaculoase.

A képek csak azokat a Hargita megyében fellelhető vagy itt észlelt fajokat mutatják be, amelyeket volt alkalmam megfigyelni és fotózni. Szinte minden felvétel a megye területén készült, kivéve néhány olyan faj fotója, amelyek esetében a megye területén kívüli, de hasonló élőhelyen megörökített, jobb minőségű és komolyabb művészi értékű fotót részesítettem előnyben.

Cel mai vast capitol al cărții este dedicat păsărilor, fiind tema mea preferată.

Cei care vor răsfoi albumul, se vor putea bucura de 100 fotografii cu peisaje, 146 fotografii cu păsări, 24 fotografii cu mamifere, 24 fotografii cu plante, și 18 fotografii cu insecte. În principiu, fotografiile prezintă doar parte din acele specii din județul Harghita pe care am avut oportunitatea să le observ și să le imortalizez. Aproape toate fotografiile au fost realizate în județ, cu excepția unor specii pentru care am preferat să folosesc fotografii de calitate mai bună și cu o valoare artistică mai mare, realizate în habitate aproape similare, din afara județului.

This album presents the part of my photographic work that focuses on Harghita County. As a native of this county, I try to showcase the region’s natural beauty and wonders through a selection of 312 photographs taken over the past ten years. The images capture my favorite protected areas and other beloved landscapes, a significant portion of the county’s bird and mammal wildlife, and the spectacular protected insects and flowering plant species.

The album’s most significant chapter is dedicated to birds, as ornithology is one of my strongest passions. Those perusing the photo album can enjoy 100 landscape photos, 146 bird photos, 24 mammal photos, 24 flower photos, and 18 insect photos, all illustrating those that can be found or observed in Harghita County. Almost all of these pictures were taken within the county, except for a few cases where I favored higher quality and more artistically valuable photos of species found in similar habitats outside the county.

A Szent Anna-tó A Szent Anna-tó Kelet-Közép-Európa egyetlen fennmaradt vulkanikus eredetű krátertava. A Nagy-Csomád hegység ikerkrátereinek egyikében alakult ki közel 30 000 évvel ezelőtt 950 méter tengerszint feletti magasságban. A festőpaletta formáját idéző tó mindössze körülbelül 0,2 km² -en terül el, kerülete 1730 méter, mélysége a legfrissebb mérések szerint 6 méter körül mozog. A tónak nincs saját vízforrása, az utánpótlást a csapadék biztosítja.

Lacul Sfânta Ana Lacul Sfânta Ana este singurul lac din Europa Centrală și de Est care s-a format în craterul unui vulcan. Acesta s-a format într-unul dintre cele două cratere gemene ale Masivului Ciomatu, acum aproximativ 30.000 de ani, la o altitudine de 950 de metri deasupra nivelului mării. Lacul, care are forma unei palete de pictură, are o suprafață de doar aproximativ 0,2 km², o circumferință de 1.730 de metri și o adâncime de circa 6 metri, conform celor mai recente măsurători. The Saint Anne Lake Formed in one of the twin craters of the Ciomad Mountains over 30,000 years ago at an altitude of 950 meters above sea level, Saint Anne Lake is the only remaining volcanic crater lake in Central-Eastern Europe. According to the latest measurements, the lake - which resembles a painter’s palette - covers an area of only about 0.2 km², with a circumference of 1730 meters and a depth of around 6 meters. Its source of water is solely precipitation.

Békás-Nagyhagymás Nemzeti Park A közel 6800 hektárnyi természetvédelmi területet 1990-ben nyilvánították nemzeti parkká. Két megye területén (Hargita és Neamţ) terül el. Nagyobbik része Hargita megye területén található. Nagy kiterjedésű hegyhátak, havasok, meredek sziklatornyok, völgyek, fenyvesek és vegyes erdők, legelők, kaszálók, gyors folyású vizek, valamint a festői szépségű Gyilkos-tó biztosítanak változatos élőhelyeket a park gazdag növény- és állatvilágának.

Jelentős nagyragadozó-állomány is él itt, medvék, farkasok, hiúzok otthona.

Parcul Național Bicaz-Hășmașu Mare Această rezervație naturală de aproape 6800 de hectare a fost declarată parc național în anul 1990. Este situată în două județe (Harghita și Neamț), cu marea parte a teritoriului aflată în județul Harghita. Suprafețe mari de creste muntoase, dealuri înzăpezite, pante stâncoase și abrupte, văi, păduri de pin și păduri mixte, pășuni și pajiști, ape curgătoare și pitorescul Lac Roșu, asigură o varietate bogată de habitate pentru flora și fauna bogată a parcului. Găzduiește populații semnificative ale carnivorelor mari, precum ursul, lupul și râsul.

This nature conservation area, covering nearly 6,800 hectares, was declared a national park in 1990. Its territory extends to two counties, Harghita and Neamţ, situated in Harghita to a larger degree. The park includes extensive mountain ridges, snow-capped peaks, steep rock towers, valleys, pine and mixed forests, meadows, pastures, fast-flowing rivers, and the picturesque Red Lake, all providing diverse habitats for the park’s rich plant and animal life. A significant population of large predators also live here, including bears, wolves, and lynx.

Madarasi Hargita - Natura 2000-es terület A több mint 13 300 hektáros, Natura 2000-es besorolású, védett terület a Hargita hegyvonulat központi részén helyezkedik el. Itt emelkedik 1801 méter magasba a hegység legmagasabb csúcsa is. A védett terület 97%-át erdők borítják, főleg lucfenyvesek. Állatvilága gazdag nagyragadozókban (medve, farkas, hiúz), de jelen van a vadmacska, a vaddisznó is, és szép számban gímszarvasok és őzek. A madárállomány is jelentős, számos értékes faj lelhető fel itt, például több bagolyféle, valamint a siketfajd, a császármadár vagy a keresztcsőrű.

Situl Natura 2000 Harghita -Mădăraș Aria protejată de peste 13 300 de hectare, clasificată ca fiind sit Natura 2000, este situată în partea centrală a lanțului muntos Harghita. Aici se află cel mai înalt vârf al lanțului muntos, de 1801 metri. Pădurile, în principal de molid, acoperă 97% din aria protejată. Fauna este bogată în carnivore mari (urs, lup, linx), dar și în pisici sălbatice, mistreți și un număr semnificativ de căprioare și cerbi. Populația de păsări este, de asemenea, interesantă, cu multe specii valoroase, cum ar fi mai multe specii de bufnițe, precum și cocoșul de munte, ierunca, sau forfecuța.

This protected area, covering more than 13,300 hectares and classified as part of Natura 2000, is located in the central part of the Harghita mountain range.

The highest peak of the range, which rises to 1,801 meters, can be found here.

97% of this protected area is covered by forests, mainly consisting of spruce forests. Its wildlife is rich in large carnivores such as bears, wolves, and lynx but also includes wildcats and wild boars, as well as a considerable number of red and roe deer. The bird population is also significant, with many valuable species, such as various types of owls, capercaillie, hazel grouse, and crossbill.

Madarak Hargita megye madárvilága gazdagnak mondható. Az országos fajlistán szereplő madárfajok 70%-a a megyei fajlistán is fellelhető. Ez konkrétan a legfrissebb adatok szerint 302 fajt jelent. Ezekből 260 faj a Hargita megyei védett madárfajok jegyzékében is listázva van. Az évek során a 302, megyénkben észlelt fajból 265-öt nekem is sikerült megfigyelni és megörökíteni.

Păsări Avifauna din județul Harghita este una bogată. 70% din speciile de păsări de pe lista națională se regăsesc și în lista județeană. Aceasta înseamnă 302 specii, conform celor mai recente date. Dintre acestea, 260 de specii se regăsesc și în lista de specii protejate la nivelul județului. De-a lungul anilor am reușit să observ și să imortalizez 265 din cele 302 specii.

Birds The birdlife of Harghita is rich. Around 70% of the bird species listed nationwide can also be found in the county, amounting to 302 species. 260 of these are listed as protected bird species in Harghita County. Over the years, I have observed and identified 265 of the species, out of the 302. 

Emlősök A megye emlősállománya jelentős, nagyragadozók tekintetében országosan, de európai szinten is a leggazdagabb területek közé tartozik. A Hargita megyei védett emlősfajok jegyzékében 38 faj szerepel, beleértve 20 denevérfajt is.

Rovarok Rovarok makrófotózásával ritkábban foglalkozom, pedig a sokféle élőhely, megyénk nagy, erdős területei számos rovarfajnak adnak otthont. A megyénkben fellehető, listázott védett rovarfajok száma 32. Időnként bizony nehéz elmennem a gyerekkorom óta kedvenc szitakötők vagy a csodálatos lepkék mellett anélkül, hogy megörökítsem őket.

Insects Although I don’t often focus on the macro photography of insects, our county’s diverse habitats and large forested areas are home to numerous insect species, including 32 listed as protected insect species. As a result, it can occasionally be a bit difficult for me to resist taking a few shots of my childhood favorites, such as dragonflies or beautiful butterflies. 

Virágok Változatos élőhelyeinek köszönhetően botanikai szempontból is nagyon gazdag Hargita megye. Flowers Thanks to its diverse habitats, Harghita County is also very rich botanically.

Nothing illustrates this better than that an English botanist who visited the county a few years ago being so amazed by the abundance and diversity of plant species here that he commented to me that one square meter may contain more plant species than in all of England. As for protected plant species, the official county list includes 197 nationally protected and 19 countyprotected plant species. 
