The SSI Entrepreneurship Programme Cohort 1 concluded with a graduation ceremony, awarding nine (9) participants with certification of completion. Dr Lascelles Sweetland, Guest Speaker at the event, encouraged the graduates to persevere in the face of obstacles they will confront in running their business. Also, Mrs. Ellen McPhillips, along with students from the University of Miami, gave the graduates practical assistance through their “business in a box” entrepreneurship initiative. Five (5) graduates moved to Phase 2 of the Programme where they will be provided “hand-holding” assistance in executing business plans in collaboration with the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC).

The other four (4) participants will continue for another six (6) months in Phase 1.
