Montego Bay Cohort Recruitment and Training
In Montego Bay, we recruited twenty-seven (27) persons with the assistance of two (2) supporting organizations. Recruits ranged in age from under the age of 31 to aged 40 and above. 57% of the recruits were already self employed and only one person reported that their business is expanding and profitable.
Eleven (11) recruits received three (3) days of intensive entrepreneurship training by the Institute of Law & Economics and eight (8) participants entered the programme

At the end of the six (6) months, 57% of the recruits who completed the programme reported that: - Were able to access financing to expand their business, finance a home renovation project - Purchase a deep freezer for their business, - Pay a deposit to acquire a piece of land - Feed and take care of five (5) persons in their community
In addition 87% reported that they increased assets at the end of the programme. We concluded that the programme had a POSITIVE IMPACT on the trainees in terms of their increased assets to support entrepreneurship and improvement of their lives.
