A new dosing method for high precision and reduced maintenance

When the operator of a threewasher laundry wanted to upgrade their detergent dosing pumps to meet increased load demand and access wash data on demand, SEKO was approached to provide a state-of-the-art solution.

Heading up the project was SoapTech Corporation’s Brent Hendrickson, who has been serving America’s Midwest with superior cleaning products and equipment for almost 20 years.

Mr Hendrickson had been commissioned by the laundry operator to increase capacity by adding a third washer to the existing installation. Meanwhile, the dosing systems in use were failing, with the unavailability of spare parts meaning

they were becoming increasingly difficult to repair and had effectively become obsolete.

Mr Hendrickson therefore decided to solve both issues by upgrading the dosing equipment and, having used SEKO pumps for a number of years, approached the SEKO USA team for a trusted solution capable of injecting up to six products.

The technical experts from SEKO visited site and carried out a full appraisal of the installed equipment and the operator’s requirements, which included gaining access to wash data and system status in order to gain a clearer picture of their process’s cost.

Having assessed the application, the SEKO team recommended the company’s latest laundry innovation, the LS100 dosing system, as the ideal solution.

LS100

Designed specifically for small-scale and on-premise laundries, LS100 is a unique pump system that is fitted with venturi cartridges and uses water pressure to initiate chemical dosing as opposed to traditional methods such as peristaltic or solenoid-driven injection.

So, with no moving parts, the system is subjected to much less wear and tear and therefore delivers thousands of doses before users need to consider cartridge replacement. Having struggled with unreliable dosing pumps for years, this aspect alone was transformative for the operator.

ergonomic formula selector. The system is also supplied complete with a trigger interface which features simple wiring inputs for pre-wash, main wash (hot and cold), rinse and spare.

LS100 is also the latest SEKO laundry system to feature state-of-the-art IoT connectivity, boasting compatibility with the SekoWeb app and online platform. This allows the operator to access live and historical wash data on demand via PC, laptop or smart device for unprecedented insight into cost per load and system status.

Meanwhile, for sites without an internet connection, LS100’s data can be accessed locally through the dedicated SekoBlue Bluetooth app, which also allows template programmes to be pre-set and quickly uploaded to new devices for minimal setup time.

Once installed, LS100 provided immediate operational improvements, with management able to track chemical consumption round the clock and identify opportunities for detergent savings and process refinements.

In fact, so impressed is the client with LS100, they have commissioned Mr Hendrickson to install a second unit which will also serve three washers and still provide scope for further expansion in the future.
