When a six-washer industrial laundry required a proven detergent injection system with IoT capability, chemical dosing systems expert SEKO was commissioned to supply a bespoke solution.

The project, undertaken by cleaning chemical specialist Pariser Industries, involved a busy 24-hour industrial laundry fitted with four 700 lb (317 kg) washers, one 900-lb (408 kg) washer and one 165-lb (75 kg) washer.

Surviving in a highpressure industry

The round-the-clock nature of the business – which was operating in an increasingly competitive laundry industry – meant that management could not afford unscheduled interruptions or frequent rewashing, both of which cause inconvenience, delays and frustrating avoidable expense.

And with clients including hotels, restaurants and factories requiring a constant flow of clean laundry such as linen, workwear and uniforms, unplanned downtime caused by a dosing system failure could result in loss of service and customers taking their business elsewhere.

Therefore, the management’s brief was for a chemical injection system that offered exceptional reliability and longevity to cope with the laundry’s demanding workload and ensure clients were supported at all times.

Meanwhile, the operator wanted the ability to continuously monitor the process in order to keep track of chemical consumption and number of wash loads per day. This would give them a clear picture of the site’s efficiency and help to reduce detergent wastage as part of their sustainability policy.

Pariser approached SEKO to deliver a proven solution from its awardnominated laundry range, and following a comprehensive analysis of the site and process recommended its WashMulti Top dosing system.

Meeting the demands of a high-volume

An ideal fit for exacting requirements

Designed to cope with the unique challenges of industrial laundry, the freestanding WashMulti Top was selected in part for its capacity to handle the application’s specific requirements. These included the need for some chemical doses of up to 300oz (8,524ml) in the laundry’s formulas to travel as far as 50 metres to the washer.

Furthermore, WashMulti Top’s capacity to supply up to 12 washers meant that the customer could comfortably expand its operation in the future without having to replace the dosing system.

Finally, WashMulti Top’s compatibility with SekoWeb – a dedicated SEKO app and online platform – would allow management to view live and historical wash data on demand and calculate the true cost of their operation.

And with every load accounted for, the operator could identify periods of inactivity and ensure that the expected number of daily washes was being achieved for maximum efficiency and productivity.

Following a trouble-free fitting and activation, the customer has reported perfect performance while benefitting from the support of SEKO’s product managers before, during and after installation.
