When interrupted it can impact our mental and psychological functioning, including our ability to sleep, think clearly, timing and release of hormones and also the regulation of blood pressure.”

“Brightness is the amount of light given off by a light source, usually expressed in lumens or lux. Some studies have shown that brighter light can intensify emotions, while low light doesn’t remove emotions, but keeps them steady. Increased hours of sunlight heighten the brain’s production of the mood-enhancing chemical serotonin. Studies have discovered that the more sunlight we are exposed to, the more serotonin we produce.”
