Knowledge Management in Enhancing Pedagogical Leadership The purpose of this thesis was to identify information needs of the unit directors at Educational Consortium OSAO. The first research question was: What is the information needs of pedagogical leadership? The aim was to increase the capability of knowledge management, so the second research question was set: How data and information is gathered to support pedagogical leadership? The thesis was built on relevant knowledge base of pedagogical leadership and knowledge management. For approach a single case study was chosen. Empirical data was collected in three phases. The information needs of unit directors was mapped with Webropol enquiry. Then the information and development needs were discussed in group interview of unit directors to get deeper answers. Furthermore, five individual interviews for process owners and specialists working on pedagogical processes were conducted using the thematic interview method. The collected data was subjected to themes and analyzed. The findings indicated that the information was already used to support pedagogical leadership although information was time-consumingly fragmented in several data sources. However, some unit-level measures were needed to design in further development. Instead of analyzing in which information was used to pedagogical leadership, plenty of development targets were recognized to enhance data-driven management. In addition, developing culture in which information is used to make changes, learn from mistakes, and celebrate success, was carried out. The value of this thesis was providing practical development proposals based on both the findings and theoretical framework. The intended implications are to support directors to take a step ahead in knowledge management. Keywords: pedagogical leadership, knowledge management, information management
