Located in the heart and home of the founders of the Arizona Peace Trail, Bouse is a small, but very active and friendly community located just 27 miles from the Colorado River on State Hwy 72. Lots of full-service RV spaces are provided in Parks in close proximity to the Sonoran Desert with virtually unlimited OHV trail riding and acres of space for RV “boondocking.” Discover evidence of old mining operations, WWII training camps, and Early American and pioneer living. Visit our Historical Assay Office Museum on Main Street for information on events, unique locations, and maps of the area. The CRIT Reservation was created by the Federal Government in 1865 and stretches along the Colorado River on both the Arizona and California sides and includes almost 300,000 acres of land, with the river serving as the focal point and lifeblood of the area. The McMullen Valley area encompasses the communities of Brenda, Vicksburg, Hope, Harcuvar, Salome and Wenden, all of which boast beautiful desert with miles and miles of offroad trails, ideal for OHV’s and hiking. If you are a fisherman/fisherwoman, we have the premier fishing lake in the state. Alamo Lake is a crystalclear lake renowned for its Bass and Crappie fishing and is surrounded by mountainous terrain, making it a scenic lake as well. Off-road trails, hiking, and a full-service RV park to rest and relax are available at Alamo Lake State Park. The area is also popular for Burro watching. Each November you can participate in the Night Under the Stars, stargazing event at the lake.

Parker, Arizona is uniquely situated along the beautiful Colorado River and a gateway to Arizona via California. In 1908, Congress authorized the town site to be reserved and set apart. The boundaries of the town are located within the interior of the Colorado River Indian Reservation established in 1865. Parker is the county seat for La Paz County formed in 1983. Parker is rich in cultural heritage and history. Parker is also a blend of small town charm which offers year-round recreational outdoor adventures and a destination lifestyle which brings visitors back one family generation to the next.

• Check tire pressure and fuel. Do not litter. Pack it in, pack it out. Drive only on existing roads or trails. Do not make your own trails.

• Tell someone your travel plans and expected return. Never go alone.

• Do not harass wildlife, and minimize dust creation.

Off-Roading Tips

• Make sure your cell phone battery is fullycharged, but remember you may not always have cell service.

• Know your vehicle’s capabilities and its proper use.

• If your vehicle gets stuck, do not panic. Remain calm; think rationally.

• Take water (1 gallon of water per person per day minimum). Check weather conditions. Take the following with you: first aid kit, flashlight, shovel, tool kit, matches, extra motor oil, jumper cables, extra gas, tire jack, tow rope, emergency food supply, and proper attire for time of year.

Check to make sure you have a fully-charged engine battery. Have a fire extinguisher on board. Have a whistle or air horn or sound producing device. If so equipped, make sure the engine cut off switch and/or wrist lanyard are in good order. Make sure you have the required number of U.S. Coast Guard-Approved life jackets or PFDs that fit properly and are in good condition. Be courteous and maintain a safe distance from others including swimmers, floaters, and divers. Do not litter the water ways. Arizona law prohibits anyone from operating a power-driven vessel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. OUI laws mirror the state’s vehicular DUI laws and penalties.
