This course is designed to enhance learners’ awareness and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the professional nurse. It is also ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in the nursing or midwifery professions. It will also provide learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to work as qualified Healthcare Assistants in hospitals and in nursing homes. As part of the course, learners must complete 150 hours’ work experience placement in a healthcare setting. Why should I apply for this course? Learners will study core areas of nursing and midwifery and are enabled to put theory into practice. This course is delivered by teachers including specialist nurses who bring a real depth of experience to their teaching. The success rates from this course are very high for progression to higher education in both Ireland and the UK.
