Join ‘spooky’ ride Oct. 10 The Double M 4-H Club and the Sleepy Hollow Trail Riders Association are pleased to sponsor the third annual Halloween Spooky Ride on Sunday, Oct. 10. Registration is at 10 a.m. and the ride continues until 2 p.m. at Sleepy Hollow State Park. The $10 per horse and rider donation includes hotdog, cider, doughnut and

Halloween candy for each registered rider. Nonriders can get the same treats for a small donation. Come ride your horse on the trails through lots of Spooky obstacles. The ride is on, rain or shine. All adults and kids are welcome. Costumes for horse and/or rider are encouraged but not required. Riders under 18 must wear a

helmet. The $10 donation helps keep the Sleepy Hollow State Park horse trails open for everyone. A state park entry sticker is required. Day stickers are available at the park office or via envelope that day. Call Sandy at (989) 682-4354 for more information. — From Double M 4-H Club

ST. JOHNS — St. Johns continues to look at ways to control costs, yet provide the same service. To save printing and mailing costs related to the postcards for the ten free yard waste bags, the City of St. Johns will have coupons available in both printed and electronic forms for city residents. The coupons will be available at the city offices, DPW and the Briggs Public Library. The coupon can also be found on the city’s web site at www.cityofstjohnsmi.com. The coupon will periodically appear in the Clinton County News and the St. Johns Reminder. The completed coupon can be redeemed at the following locations: • Public Works Department, 1000 N.
