Adjust a size L adult unisex shirt to a 10-year-old dress. Just add a few safe pins on seams and you will be able to change it yourself.

10 mins and a few safe pins spending, adult clothes can be worn by children.

Clothes have been added with detachable tools, so clothes can be changed to any shape, and anyone from XS-XL can wear it, adjust it without any skills.

I made a cloth that can be changed from a coat to a hat to a plant pot by folding.

I chose a workman’s suit to destroy. I tore up the pattern and cut it into fabric to make a suit. Since I have added components around the edges that can be assembled to other pieces, it can be the original suit, or it can be any other garment or anything else that is not a garment, depending on how you use it.

In this project, the user contributed 3 pieces of her inactive clothes. The three clothes were randomly cut into irregular patterns and then placed at the edges with collage-able components. The user reassembles the three clothes through her own creative ability to form a single garment. As a result, while user prefer her redesigned garment, the styles are to personal to wear in everyday life.And the components rub against the skin. I am still in the process of transforming this garment. Stay tuned for further developments.

This is the material test involved in my BA graduation thesis. I used memory filament material mixed with memory metal in one fabric to achieve the result that can be fabricated into different shaped by hand. I invited three people to participate in this selfdesigned process. They claimed that in the process, they did not consider any of their preferences, and all of their actions were spontaneous and subconsicious. This result propelled my hobby in self-design.

About Profile I am a product and fashion designer who is interested in self-design. I love to see an individual or a group of people adapt their clothes to their own satisfaction with the humble gadgets. I am more interested in the social phenomenon behind this behaviour, which includes people’s ownership conversion and sharing, a community’s culture and story collecting and so on. Using self-adjusting to give voice to the individuals and communities’s stories is what my work is about.
