Ashley Charron, the wedding planner behind Boxwood Bridal and founder of Event Pod, believes there’s an easier way. Brides need support and trust not just from their future spouse, but from their wedding vendors as well. Ashley believes if the right team is in place, this celebration is one big step closer to going off without a hitch, (Well, there will be a hitch, the right kind of hitch.) She calls it the “Vendor Dream Team”. Ashley favors the experience of “smooth and easy” over “stressed out and overwhelmed”.

– Becky Kimmons, PLEASANT UNION FARM Imagine a dining experience where you are surrounded by a plethora of color, the sweet aroma of garden cut flowers and fresh food in its purest form sourced from a local farm. The scents, the tastes, the surroundings… all in season and more vibrant than anything else you have ever experienced. Flowers are more fragrant. Fresh fruits and vegetables are served straight out of the garden. Truly, the bounty of the earth is at its finest. This is a farm to table wedding with Pleasant Union Farm.

With a farm to table wedding, the focus is on the menu and flowers, thereby offering a one-of-a-kind experience for brides. Since it’s always about what is local and in season, it will vary from one month to the next. Spring, Summer and Fall each will yield their own unique flavors and colors. For example, an early June wedding will produce floral and fruit with a Spring palette. For food, you may see strawberries, peas and leafy greens. Flowers may include snapdragons, stock and yarrow. No matter what time of year, however, you are guaranteed to have fresh food that is in season and a personalized table setup that will never be replicated. Pleasant Union Farms also offers different packages depending on how elaborate or simple you want to go.

Farm to table weddings are a great choice for brides who want to indulge in a unique food and floral experience, but who are also willing to relinquish control and be open minded about colors and what is in season. Approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding, the menu gets finalized based on local availability. The good folks at Pleasant Union Farm will follow your customized menu, but then gather what’s available to make everything come together. Additionally, if Pleasant Union Farms isn’t able to directly provide the food, it will be sourced locally. For example, they source both meat and dairy from River View Farms in Calhoun, who is one of their largest providers of both meat and grits.
