TransUnion Executives Address World Consumer Credit Conference in Cape Town, South Africa CAPE TOWN, South Africa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At the 5th World Consumer Credit Reporting Conference, two of TransUnion's international executives addressed both challenges in South Africa and success achieved to date as well as the real and potential benefits of full-file reporting (reporting both positive and negative data) throughout the world. The conference was held in Cape Town, South Africa from Oct. 8-10.

Addressing the global crowd of government officials, regulators and credit reporting companies, Alex Yuen, managing director of TransUnion in Hong Kong, said that the lack of full-file reporting has kept many countries around the world from reaping economic benefits. Recent Latin America studies, commissioned by TransUnion, indicate that countries need three core elements to benefit from a credit infrastructure: a privately held credit reporting company, full participation among lenders and financial institutions, and full-file reporting.
