STEP(Skills Training for English Proficiency) 프로그램은 영어가

학문을 위한 랭가라 영어 프로그램(LEAP)은 모국어가 영어가 아닌 국제

STEP는 흥미로운 풀타임 집중 초급 영어 프로그램으로서, 밴쿠버와

이수할 수 있는 준비를 갖추도록 돕는 일을 목적으로 하는 집중 영어

모국어가 아닌 국제 및 캐나다 출신 학생들을 위해 마련된 과정입니다. 캐나다의 환경과 문화를 중심 내용으로 합니다.

STEP 프로그램은 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기 능력의 개선을 목표로 합니다. 다양한 주제, 자료, 활동을 통해, 교실이 살아 있는 언어 환경으로 바뀝니다. 학생은 밴쿠버, 캐나다, 세계에 대한 지식을

넓히면서 영어 능력도 발전시킬 수 있습니다. 기간은 7주이며 1년에 6 회 개설됩니다. 학생들은 주당 20시간의 수업을 받으며, 주당 약 10 시간에 해당하는 과제를 수행해야 합니다. STEP는 3레벨로 되어 있습니다. 학급당 평균 학생 수는 14명입니다.

STEP은 학생들이: ·· 영어 능력 향상 ·· 교실 내외부에서 이루어지는 역동적인 활동들을 통해 자연스럽고 의미있게 영어를 사용

·· 캐나다 사회에 관한 주제들을 탐색함으로써 캐나다 문화를 학습 ·· 랭가라의 LEAP 및 학업 프로그램을 이수할 수 있도록 발전하도록 북돋웁니다.

STEP 프로그램을 가르치는 강사들은 TESL 학위 소지자들로서 다년

간 ESL 교육 경험을 보유하고 있습니다. 많은 수는 캐나다 국외에서의 ESL 교수 경험도 보유하고 있습니다. STEP 강사들은 종합적인 능력, 다문화 인식, 학생들이 영어 능력의 탄탄한 기초를 쌓도록 도우려는 책임감을 가진 강사들로 엄선된 분들입니다.

개설됩니다. 학생들은 주당 20시간의 수업을 받으며, 주당 약 20시간에 해당하는 과제를 수행해야 합니다. LEAP에는 중급에서 고급까지 6개

레벨이 있습니다. 학급당 평균 학생 수는 16명입니다. LEAP 프로그램 이수를 원하는 학생은 최소한의 영어 요건을 충족해야 합니다.

LEAP 프로그램은 언어 발달, 학업 우수 장려, 성공적이고 독립적인

학습자 양성, 잠재력을 충분히 발휘하면서도 대학 소속감을 느낄 수 있는 환경 조성을 통해:

·· 언어 발달 촉진 ·· 학업 우수 장려 ·· 학생들이 보다 성공적이고 독립적으로 학습할 수 있도록 격려 ·· 학생들이 진정한 소속감을 가지고, 자신이 기여할 수 있는 대학 환경을 조성함과 동시에 잠재력을 충분히 발휘할 기회 제공을 돕습니다.

LEAP를 성공적으로 이수할 경우 무시험 입학(대학 편입) 프로그램에 바로 진학할 수 있습니다.

LEAP 프로그램을 가르치는 강사들 TESL 고급 학위 소지자들입니다.

강사들은 학문을 위한 영어 교수 경험, 다문화 인식, 젊은 성인 학생들이 학업에서성공할 수 있도록 도우려는 책임감을 가진 강사들로 엄선된

분들입니다. 대부분은 캐나다 국외에서의 ESL 교수 경험을 보유하고 있습니다.
