~40 Mocktails for Any Occasion

why we are here

Please let us introduce ourselves, we are Natalie and Jess and we are the co-owners of Free Spirit! Free Spirit is a mocktail bar in Nashville, TN that promotes a good time without the usual consequence of a night out in Nashville. We love to make our customers feel included and important. Many times when a person does not drink they feel alienated and like they are missing out. Even though we are only a five year old business we feel like we have made a big impact in our town, but we wanted to expand our range and make a mocktail book so that our patrons and even strangers can feel like the life of the party without a sip of alcohol. So grab your shaker, muddler, and a few drinking glasses and let’s have some fun!

Download the Artivive App and scan each section’s title page to watch the fun happen!

what you will need:

A. Shaker

Many mocktail recipes call for drinks to be shaken before they’re enjoyed. So having a cocktail shaker is an absolute must. It is pretty self explanatory just pour your drink in, shake, strain the liquid into your glass, and enjoy!

B. Muddler

The muddler is one of those bartender tools that gets used in all the most delicious fruity drinks. Grip it from the top, rest the end of the muddler against your palm, use your whole hand and start smashing!

C. Strainer

Placed over the mouth of your shaker or mixing glass, cocktail strainers keep ice and other unwanted ingredients from ending up in your finished cocktail.

D. Bar Spoon

The bar spoon is an integral part of any bar tool set. After all, those cocktails aren’t going to mix themselves. A good bar spoon should have a little weight to it without being overly bulky. Typically, a bar spoon has a twisted shaft that makes the circular stirring movements smooth and steady.

E. The Jigger

A jigger is the bar tool that makes the perfect pour simple. Jiggers are the measuring cups of the drink world. They take the guesswork out of mixology, letting you know exactly how much liquid you are adding to the drink.

Lowball Glass

The lowball glass, Old Fashioned glass, or rocks glass, are all names for a short tumbler with a solid base which holds around 6 to 8 ounces of liquid. A solid base aids with drinks that require ‘muddled’ ingredients. These low glasses can also be used for serving a neat pour

Copper Mug

Most cocktails require specific glassware for their drinks—the highball and the martini glass, for example—however, the copper mug for a Mule is a must.

Margarita Glass

A traditional margarita glass has an oversized curved bowl and a wide rim for optional salting. Due to the shape of the glass and stem there’s no risk of warming the cocktail with your hand.

Let’s get down to basics. In this section, we give you mocktail versions of some of your favorite classic cocktails, like the Margarita, Aperol Spritz, and Sangria–all with reduced-sugar makeover.
