The National Register of Historic Places is the o cial list of properties that are worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the list helps identify, evaluate, and protect our historic and archeological resources. Many people are drawn to vintage homes for their character and beauty, in addition to the quality craftsmanship of the era. Some of Portland, Oregon’s oldest homes are over a century old and easily meet all the criteria that the vintage home seeker is looking for, from hardwood staircases to claw foot bathtubs and pedestal sinks. While some are listed on the National Register and protected from certain remodeling, they are still available to purchase and even rent occasionally as a deluxe vacation getaway. Because of the abundance of vintage homes in Portland, there are plenty of architecture choices, depending on which Portland neighborhood you explore, and each region prides itself on its unique style. Portland Heights https://lanelowry.org/historical-housing-in-portland/
