After closing the year on a high following our successful inaugural Landscape Middle East Awards ceremony, we’re ready to embrace 2020 with the same enthusiasm and optimism we had for the year just gone!
We’ll be covering many momentous projects this year, not least Dubai’s Expo 2020 and the opening of myriad new residential buildings and parks throughout the region and we look forward to having you with us on our journey.
In the first issue of the year, we highlight Dubai Municipality’s contribution to saving our planet by planting thousands of new trees throughout the city. We hope this encourages Landscape professionals to follow in their footsteps and incorporate a range of indigenous trees and plants into their designs and debunk the myth that younger architects tend to opt for hardscape over planting trees and shrubs.
We also have features on the green haven that is Dubai’s Silicon Oasis (page 14), as well as a luxury villa landscape design in Cairo, Egypt (page 42). Lebanon’s Nahr El Kalb area, famed
