Waterfront Residence in Annapolis Front Residential Planting and Entranceway Working side-by-side with a builder, this new home construction allowed for great opportunities to create a wonderful landscape entry experience. A permeable paver driveway creates a grand approach and entry to the home while managing stormwater on site. A new flagstone walkway creates a beautiful greeting and gathering space. The new plantings reflect the architecture and experience of waterfront living. The open lawn area creates a buffer between the public sidewalk and private residence.

The goal of this design was to connect a traditional home on the Falls Church streetscape with a more casual “workshop” in the rear of the property. Perhaps most importantly, they wanted a space for croquet and other lawn sports. We created a large sports lawn to connect the house with the workshop and shored up the grade with seemingly endless mountain boulders.
