Georgetown University Law Center

Commercial Maintenance

Central to Georgetown Law’s mission of educating exceptional lawyers is the philosophy of cura personalis, or care for the whole person, helping students forge a path to leadership that balances personal success and career achievement. To that end, we were entrusted to maintain a landscape that reflects the proud history and prestige of this institution while balancing the need for peaceful, reflective outdoor space for students and faculty to study, relax, and connect with their peers. We helped achieve this goal through a high standard of maintenance, which includes flower beds, trees, pots, and turf, including care of 2,200+ annuals, approximately 700 perennials/grasses/shrubs, 1.5 acres of turf, 15,300+ square feet of bed space, and over 50 trees, as well as managing the irrigation system.

“In America: Remember” Special Events

“In America: Remember” was a public art installation commemorating all Americans who have died due to COVID-19. In September 2021, 693,000 white flags were installed on 20 acres of the National Mall for two weeks, creating a national opportunity to reflect upon the enormous toll of the pandemic. Local DC artist Suzanne Brennan Firstenberg, who conceptualized and executed the event, reached out to us to request aid in installing the flags, and we offered to perform the work at no cost. This was the second installation of “In America” for which we volunteered to assist. We had over 200 team members from nine offices in six states working throughout the three-day install.
