Applications for admission are accepted starting September 1, 2023, for the next academic year.

Please use our checklist on the next page to navigate the admissions process. We’re happy to help if you have any questions.

ADMISSIONS CHECKLIST

Create a Ravenna Account

In order to register for admissions events and complete the application process, you must create a Ravenna Account. Once you register, click on the School Directory, search for “Landon School,” and select “Apply” or “Explore.”

Submit Application Form

The application and all required supporting materials are due Friday, January 19, 2024. There is a $75 application fee; you may request an application fee waiver by contacting the Admissions Office.

Submit Parent and Student Responses

To learn more about the applicant and his family, we ask that families answer a set of prompts. We ask that the applicant’s responses be in his own words.

Schedule Tour and Interview

An in-person campus tour and interview for parents and the applicant(s) is required and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Self-registration takes place via your Ravenna application page.

Complete Testing

Applicants to grades 3-6

Admissions testing for Lower School applicants is required and takes place on campus with Landon faculty. Applicants engage in a reading and math assessment plus a small group activity. Self-registration takes place via your Ravenna application page.

Applicants to grades 7-12

Landon requires standardized testing and accepts results from one of the following options: SSAT, ISEE, HSPT (for applicants to grades 9-12). Alternatively, an applicant may choose to take Landon’s in-house assessment and submit a graded writing sample. Self-registration for Landon’s testing takes place via your Ravenna application page.

Request Transcript

Landon requires an official transcript to include one marking period from the current school year plus all reports from the prior two years with any in-school testing information. Complete the Transcript Request Form found on your Ravenna application page and submit it to your son’s school(s).

Request Teacher Recommendation(s)

Requests to complete recommendation forms are sent via your Ravenna application page.

Grades 3-5

Applicants must submit one recommendation from the current homeroom teacher. An additional personal recommendation is optional.

Grades 6-12

Applicants must submit recommendations from current Math and English teachers. An additional personal recommendation is optional.

Personal recommendations must be submitted by one who knows the applicant in an organized setting i.e. a coach, former teacher, or club organizer.

Apply for Financial Aid (Optional)

In order to receive financial aid, you must apply simultaneously with the admissions application. Landon uses the Clarity Application, available as of September 1, 2023. Visit Landon’s website for the application link and information about the process.

Schedule Bear for a Day Visit (Optional)

Applicants to grades 7–12 may spend a morning at Landon shadowing a current student. Self-register via your Ravenna application page.

FINANCIAL AID

We believe that Landon offers an unparalleled educational experience. We also believe that a Landon education should be available for every qualified young man, regardless of financial need. That’s why we encourage you to apply for tuition assistance.
